I was wondering if you romanced Liara and slept with her dose she get preggo with your baby? I wonder since she talks about how the Asari bond with a partner and sex may or may not be involved. So was it just sex or did we “bond”? This would add a cool story line to if you cheat in ME2.

Would be really interesting if this had happened. But alas I really doubt it. So many topic on Mass Effect are about romance in the game or things related. Secretly all ME players are just hopeless romantics ;).

Unlikely. The asari rarely reproduce before they turn 300, and enter the Matron-stage of their life. She can still have Shepard's child at some point of her life, as the asari can store the genetic information indefinately and have children whenever they choose, but I doubt it's an issue that enters the games. Liara could hardly return as a squadmate in ME3, as we've been tentatively promised, if she had maternity issues to worry about.

don't you mean the other "parent"?

A little arrogant assuming the only interaction was male.

It wouldn't matter anyway; any asari child is still an asari. So it wouldn't be a little shepard, it be another little blue hot chick.

A FemShep who performed the Union with Liara would still be the father. Liara even calls the asari who joined with Benezia her father and describes non-asari who mate with asari as 'father species.'

It would be a little shepard who happened to be a blue, bisexual space babe. I can see her pistol whiping the asari child who stole her cookies and biotically tossing reporters already. Posted Image

It's possible... Although given that Asari live to well over 1000 years old, and Liara's only 106, your Shepard effectively just slept with the equivalent of a 10 year old girl.

Mull on that for a bit. ;)

That is interesting and made me wonder, I looked and saw closely in Mass Effect 1 and 2. The eyes are blackish and dark in the center just like Liara's. I am sure they are bonded and connected to one another.

There may be some more clues if/when the Liara DLC is released. She *did* seem to be a glorified cameo in ME2, as if her story was underdeveloped on purpose...

I'd like to think eventually yes.

Engineer Shepard got with the blue alien chick in a purely cold, clinical attempt to preserve her genetic lineage via asari delayed reproduction.

Others would certainly love to retire with her and be a few decades of happiness in her life offspring or no, but Engineer Shepard is going to be choked if she joined nervous systems with an alien species (long-term side-effects in humans remain unknown) for no real purpose.

Well that would truly make it a soap opera. LittleShep could be the star of some ME spin off title. Sillier things have happened in ME.

From the codex

"Although asari have one gender, they are not asexual. An asari provides two copies of her own genes to her offspring, which—regardless of the species or sex of the 'father'—is always an asari. The second set is altered in a unique process called melding, also known as the joining."

Confirmed, Liara will not have mastered her taint by the time ME 3 rolls around

Hmm, she should show her dreams of the archdemon to Shepard via brain melding.

There are elements missing from the mass effect universe, children being one of them aside from reference. It would seem unlikely that Liara would have had a child with Shepard because of this. That's not to say though it's not possible. There are qualifying words in the codex and comments during the game that leave room for speculation. If Liara had given birth to a Shepard offspring after the destruction of the Normandy it could shed some light on her change in behavior/ career and reluctance to leave Illium.

It's been two years if she was pregnant she would've had it by now. No babies needed in ME3 thanks.
