Why leave out Cain Mines when they are his signature ability? That like not speccing into BB's on a BatSol.
I know all that "cheesy-blabla" but screw, it's fun to obliterate stuff.

People trying to tell you the Talon is cheesy? Pffshh, embrace the cheese.

I really hope that for the next game the developers will give a big "**** you" to balance changes and make everything as ridiculous as possible.

The ****ing would be fantastic. And I'd laugh as I throw my hammer into an Atlases canopy and detonate a nuke in there, blasting away all the walls and burying my enemies.

Now THAT would be fun to see.

Personally, I *snip* only use the mines between waves to create safe areas I can run to if things get too hectic *snip* less than 20% of my points per game come from the mines.

I'd rather just use phasic ammo .

Learning to use Concussive Arrows situationally is more rewarding than having a pseudo-Cobra Missile Launcher as a power.

Cain Mines aren't fast enough to save someone from being ground executed or sync killed by a Phantom.

What do you do if a Phantom is aggressively charging at you? Panic and use Cain Mines?

As stated above in the abridged version of my post, I don't spam cain mines, I actually use them as booby-traps on choke points and to make safe rooms.

If I need to perform a saviour rocket against a boss, I use a cobra, thats what they're for.

And as for phantoms, a Graal with phasic ammo makes a mockery of them anyway, on or off host, so I don't need the concussive arrows for that.  The charged graal shot staggers them and strips their barriers, and the quick-tap follow up finishes the job before they recover from the stagger.

This isn't based on platinum difficulty though, which I know you play, so I don't know if the graal triple-tap would be powerful enouth on platinum, gold's my limit, since I don't like to make people carry me.

I haven't got a problem with people specing into concussive arrows, just the same as I'm fine with people using electric hammer on their krolord if they enjoy it.

Fun>being optimal.

I just find the random kills from cain mines being tripped by some hapless mook to be more entertaining, as well as more practical.

I like to imaging that the idiot gets just enough warning from the mine to think "oh ****" before getting his brains blown out of his ***!

Atleast do 3points in cain mines and 5 in passives.. skip cain mines is blatantly trying to be a corny hipster

I'm going to have to go with Zae on this.

Even when I go for a bow build on him I'll still put points into the mines, I don't see a reason not to, it's nothing but an extra tool in his arsenal.

I hear some people skip Poison Strike on the Turian Cabal.

It's fun to obliterate everything with my own abilities, of course Cheese is fun once in a while like that Geth/Jade game we breezed through with Max. lol

Oh wait, you wouldn't know.

I do this.

But my reasoning, and most likely that of the others who do this, is different to skipping the mines on the talon in your case.

Poison strike is glitchy as hell off-host, skipping it allows the cabal to be played off host safely, and with much bigger guns, such as the javilin, if you take 6b in biotic focus instead of 6a.

If it worked reliably off-host, I know that I'd use it.

And as for skipping hunter mode on the GI being "gimped" token, GPS GI says hi.  (I prefer Piranha GI myself, but W/ever)

The only problem I've had with Poison Strike is getting sync killed in the middle of it by a Scion but that's it.

It's a really good power for closing the distance with revives and starting objectives. I use both the Particle Rifle and Acolyte with Incendiary ammo for Fire Explosions.

LOL!  I'd like to see that.  Scion clothesline then smackdown, brutal.  Got a Vid?

Back when I experimented with it, that was what I found it's best feature to be, a massive teleport.

It's the hitting enemies part that's unreliable.  It's quite good as a long range teleport that costs 4 ranks.

I hear that 46664 is quite common, for that reason.

Before a round starts I'll try and place one or two near a likely spawn as to catch them early so they're easier to kill with the bow, mooks that survive will just melt to the bow. AP arrows are then applied liberally to the face of select enemies(I use shred on AP arrows) with regular bow shots after to them. Following that I'll drop a mine by that spawn again to catch anything that respawns then go about my business. It's also good to drop a mine in the way of some advancing group to kill/stagger.
I won't depend on them with a bow build but they certainly speed things up and save a life here and there as well as take some lives.

If I do a no fitness build I'll be just placing the mines all day with some chessy spam and concussive arrows flying about to stagger any problems a mook may give me.

Good to see someone else actually using them as booby traps.

A thought, would the concussive arrows still be fit for purpose with only 3 or 4 points in them?

If so, a 63656 build or a 64646 build might be interesting.

Of those I think the 64646 would be the better of the two.

I wouldn't use them if I did change my build, to make the most of the Cain Mines I would have to use a Power Amp, but I always use an Adrenaline Mod so I can side step Ravager/Scion shots, Geth Rocket Trooper Rockets and Geth Hunters while exchanging fire with my Omni Bow + Graal. lol

They're quite useful as booby traps and hit hard as heck even without any power amps...
