As many might have observed, the lustful Desire Demons from DA are very similar with the concept of the succubus from other fatasy settings and real life beliefs and legends.

What intrigues me is the lack of its male conter part, the incubus. While many of us don't have...aham...any problem with the Desires Demon visual concept there are still people that might have other preferences and those preferences are present in the DA setting as well, in the player characters and other characters. It's very curious that there is no version of the Desire Demon that covers those preferences, considering the variations in which desire might come to different people, be it in DA or real life.

Due to a cronic case of laziness, I won't start to explain the concept behind the real life legends, so if you are interested here's the info regarding the succubus and the incubus.

So I was thinking they could introduce a new skin for the Desire Demon, more exactly something like this (but without the ridiculous sized blades ) :

Here is a poll I've made where you can express you desire regarding such an implementation. ( Do to the fact that polls are now read-only, you are not able to vote anymore )

So what do you think ? Could they introduce a male version that has the same attacks patterns or a little different pattern ( for variation ) in DA:I or future projects ? Is it to late to even consider a possible implementation of such a thing in DA:I ? And even more important...should they do it ?

We could certainly do it (personally I always wanted the Desire Demon to be androgynous, but that ship has long since sailed). Whether we would depends on whether we have a need for it somewhere-- if we're going to do a whole new model, I personally would rather have it be a new creature as opposed to an alternate version of a creature which already exists, but if there were a story-related reason as to why we needed it then by all means it could happen.

Just out of curiosity, how much influence do writers have on character and other designs anyway? I certainly can't tell for sure, but it seems that in other games like Planescape, you had to have obvious collaboration for 'This character uses a shape-changing blade' and other iconic items for the character that had story relevance.

There's collaboration, but final say with regards to how anything looks in the game rests with the Art department. So we'll offer input to the artists, and they'll take it into account, but when it comes to things which are purely aesthetic it's up to them to determine which direction best complies with the overall look they're going for.
