I want to see Desire Demons being more than just sex. Desire covers a very wide range of things - desire for power, desire for justice, desire for peace etc - and it just seems cheap to have it only cover sex.
Desire Demons : A matter of succubi and incubi.

Yeah the scantily clad female fondling herself does nothing for me.
Probably why I prefer the Pride demons. Pride demon in DAO origin > all those lame desire demons we get later.

Most Desire Demons we've seen so far haven't dealt with sex. The only one who does is the one we meet if the Warden is a Mage and can go into the Fade to save Connor, and even then it was one of a few options.

Not everyone desires power, justice, peace etc...
Everyone wants to get some though.
So their form is the most practical!

I think the only issue I have with this whole topic is that Incubi and succubus are presented as purely sexual beings, while Desire Demons weren't, barring a few animations here and there.
Whether they're depicted as a temptress, or a tempter doesn't really matter to me, even if they varied it based on PC gender. I'd go into other variables, but really, the more code, the easier it is to break it.

It'd be quite a challenge to create a Porsche 918 Spyder desire demon though.

I'm surprised that BW didn't go the Mileena route with the desire demons. Keep the hot body, but give them a nightmarish face and rasping demonic voice.

I would like it if the desire demon appeared just as a giant hunk of gold. Pretty much everyone likes money to some extent.

i'm intrigued by the concept of an androgynous desire demon

So...it's been 6 months,i take it there won't be a male Desire Demon?
I take it you read this post?
We could certainly do it (personally I always wanted the Desire Demon to be androgynous, but that ship has long since sailed). Whether we would depends on whether we have a need for it somewhere-- if we're going to do a whole new model, I personally would rather have it be a new creature as opposed to an alternate version of a creature which already exists, but if there were a story-related reason as to why we needed it then by all means it could happen.

Hi, there! This is your friendly asexual representative stopping by!Not everyone desires power, justice, peace etc...

But, nah, I feel that desire demons should have two gendered forms to use based on flirt options the player may have chosen through the game, if there's not going to be an androgynous redesign, and if they're going to try to work the sexy-time angle. Like someone said above me, the desire demons haven't really used sex as an incentive in most cases we've seen, but I guess the "hawt purple lady/dude" is a clearer visual representation of desire than, say, wealth or fame or justice. How would one design a form to communicate that?

We've seen desire demons who've dealt with more than sex. There was on in the circle tower in DAO that played on a templar's desire for family. Not a wife to lay with, but a wife to cherish and care fore, and children to raise. The whole domestic life style.
The desire demon possessing Connor played on his desire to save his father's life. Caress tempted Isabela of all people with material wealth as opposed to sexual pleasure, and Aveline with the thought of reuniting love.
That's just off the top of my head.

Exactly. As I said, the only Desire Demon that ever offers sex is the one the Mage Warden meets when saving Connor. And that was one of like 4 options.

Well, NOTHING is universally "desired" by everyone, except water and air. Perhaps desire demons should be talking water fountains.
I think people get too hung up on the idea that the desire demon is supposed to be a representation of THEIR desire when it's simply a representation of desire. As you said, no desire demon in the history of this franchise to date has attempted to seduce the PC; most just try to kill you. Isabela was offered sex, but only to sweeten a deal that included getting her own ship.

This is exactly perfect. Also with noting is that none of the desire demons save the one possessing Connor ever actually offered the PC anything (except maybe opting out of a combat situation or two in Origins), so in a way, player desire is pretty much irrelevant except for the fanservice. How sexy do you feel this railroaded battle was, on a scale of 1-10, you know?
And I was just being facetious with my asexual jab - I know the booty bumping works very well as a manifestation of desire for the majority of the population. And who would take a Dreaded Cake Demon of Woe seriously anyway?

I think the Desire Demon should have been a blank canvas - something not dissimilar from creatures found in the Silent Hill series perhaps.
I'm not really a fan of any of the demon designs in Dragon Age - they all pretty much look like generic monsters (though the DA:I demons do seem to have some interesting designs)

All I can say is that every time I see a desire demon in either game, I roll my eyes because I am reminded of how the gaming industry is one that is made by bros for bros.
Not to say that this is truly the case. But it's a horrible impression to leave.
Equal desire demons, please. I really liked the idea that it takes whatever gender your character has romanced. If both, then it's whatever.

And incubus and succubus (well, two desire demons) joining forces as some kind of scary "friends" in messing with you in the fade would be downright terrifying...
