Probably not, no. They're both games with solid fan bases at this point and are both guaranteed sales. I know a lot of people already who are planning on buying both.
Yeah, I guess you're right. But personally I'm gonna wait for the reviews this time, since both games have the potential to screw up. And because Witcher 2 was a success and DA2...not so much, I'm slightly more on the Witcher side. But then again, DAI is "rumored" to be a "very different game". SO....I don't know, we'll see

Unless Geralt of Rivia is suddenly down with the man-love, then there's no comparison as far as I'm concerned.
if thats all that matters to you then you need to quit gaming right now

The Witcher series has nothing else to recommend it. If I wanted a generic 'save the world' story, set in a generic pseudo-medieval setting, starring a generically stoic, broody man, I could just walk into the video game store blindfolded and pick up the first title I pluck from the bargain bin.XxDeonxX wrote...

if thats all that matters to you then you are one very sad human being
Dragon Age has something that sets it apart, and that thing is the ability to kiss other boys.

Plot-wise, the second one's not like that at all. The first one has elements of it though.Plaintiff wrote...

Amen to that. Although I am still going to play both games.Plaintiff wrote...

I sometimes question Plaintiff's humanity. He's just too awesome to be human.

Every game needs a bisexual elf. If I can't romance Iorveth in TW3, I will cancel my pre-order.

Not really. It's main competitor's going to be whichever games are releasing right around its release date. Contrary to popular belief, people don't play another game in the same genre and go 'Yep! This is the only game I'm playing now!'. More often than not, it means people will look for similar games in the same genre.
