so, I have started a new playthough with a Male Shepard, Paragon.

and I am faceing a tough choice.

who should be  the ME2 LI? I seldom play as a Man Shep and i don't know who to pick. i have narrowed it down to Jack ....and Tali. now here is the twist. the person that ends up as this Shep's LI WILL DIE ON THE SUCIDE RUN:o

the reason for this is, it's part of the arch i have semi planned for My Shep. the idea is simple.
he is a happy go lucky, Type. but slighty  nive. [ only slightly though.]  as his journey though ME2 goes on, he becomes more bitter, as he relises that most of his old firends no longer tust him. the Alience gave up on him,  TIM is playing him for a fool  add one horrible Mission [ Arrival} plus one wtf misson { Overlord} mix with Deaths of LI and few others on the Sucide run and you will have one screwed up Shep for ME3.

I am leaning towards Jack and Tali for the role of doomed LI becuase : Jack is Shepard's oppisate. once he gets her to open up, become slightly softer,  a sybol of hope, that something so screwed up can change, only to have her die, and This Shepard's hopes die too.. makes for an intresting story arch.  and Plus, Jack is awesome.B)
as for Tail? she was there at the beganing. she was willing to put aside her mistrust  of cerburs  [ like my Sheaprd has done]  and work with a geth, becuase she belives in Shepard.  when she dies, Shep comes to belive that no one should trust him, as he fears he would lead them down the same path as Tali.

so, witch one sounds more appealing?

Jack or Tali?
or should i burn in the deeps of hell for suggesting such a thing?

Tali would make the more interesting option. Your Shep would feel the guilt of losing an innocent like her far more than a 'face reality, ****!' confident character like Jack.
You would have to consider weather you want to bring peace between Quarians and the Geth as its much harder (impossible?) without Tali.

I say kill off Jack. My reason is because she is actually a good romance option for a paragon Shepard. You can help her love and trust again only to lose her during the suicide run. Also ME3 is more interesting and tragic without her. Your now bitter and hopeless Shepard is now placed in the position to help usher these kids into war. Plus you lose a very talented boy with leadership skills. I'm sure that would continue to mess your Shepard up inside.

I openly admit I'm biased in this situation, but (as Hazegurl noted) I actually believe Grissom Academy works better without Jack. There are some very strong sequences there which you otherwise would not see.

It sounds like you really want to punish Shepard before ME3, so losing Tali feels like losing more, because Shep's known her for a longer time compared to Jack.

I also think Paragon Shepard/Tali make a more natural romantic pair than Paragon Shepard/Jack, but that's a conclusion based only on first impressions, since I've never played either romance.

Miss Lawson. All others are just noise.

Srsly tho, I like both Jack and Tali. But I gotta go with Tali, she's so cool and she really loves Shepard.

Apart from Legion and Garrus I'd say tali might make my top 3 favorite squadmates.

Tali. .

I had a ME3 game without Tali. I thought she was alive. She wasn't. I didn't find out until... where was she? She's not on the Citadel... She's not in the war room. Uh oh..... Raan was so gangsta - no knives. "I knew that thing would betray us." -- you don't get the three renegade interrupts.

I hate to see Tali go, but I think she would make the better choice for the reasons listed above. It is just hard for me to see Mr. Paragon-Naive Shepard being attracted to Jack. Getting to the romance stage with Jack takes a lot of convo's and each time she tells you to eff off. She tells about all the crimes she's committed. And when you finally do get to the point where she accepts your advances she tells you you're crazy and that is why she might go for it. Basically, the girl is a kink. Liara and Kasumi will also call you crazy. Is Paragon-Naive Shep crazy? Doesn't seem to fit. Besides, I'll bet you have never seen a Tali-less playthrough.

I would've gone with Jack, because she offers a far more dramatic romance. That and you miss out on far less content than when you have Tali die. Like Deinon said, Grissom is somewhat better without Jack.

Either would work for the role play your suggesting so it depends how much you want to change ME3. Killing Tali will impact the Rannoch arc in ME3, while killing Jack off will make effectively zero difference.

Tali in this case.

Jack's absence, I regret to say, is not conspicuous apart from the early Grisom Academy side mission.

Tali's absence by contrast (inexplicably) affects the main plot in a major way.

Plus, you won't get the Admiral Tali BS if she's dead.

I would say Tali, except her ME2 romance feels closer to fanservice. If her ME2 romance was more than 'my suit!' (as important as that is to Quarians.. don't get me wrong), I'd say do it, but..

Jack is the dramatic one by the end, so I say romance and kill her off...

If you're going for story-arch, then I say Jack because it seems more dramatic and, considering all the work getting her to open up, a bit more fitting for the type of story you want. Romancing Tali and then killing her off would fit better with a Colonist/Sole Survivor Shep for a story-arch. Especially if you are going for a Shep that starts breaking down in ME2 rather than follow the ME3 Shep story-arch of falling apart throughout the game.

If you really want to go the f--ked up route, romance Jack and have her survive the Suicide Mission. Then in ME3 skip going the Grissom Academy side mission.

Shepard will later face indoctrinated Jack and have to kill her.

As the player, it depends. I guess for OP he already knows about it so whatever. As a new player though, I can very much see it shocking them when they notice they just shot Jack.

But narratively, yeah I agree; anticlimactic.

Jack's still too mainstream for me. That's why I romance Diana Allers.
