I would like to start it with a question!

Is it possible to recruit everyone and dont let any of the main NPCs die during the redcliffe event?

If it is

I chalenge any of you to finish this event by no leting any of the Main NPCs Die

The List:

-Dwyn (and his 2 thugs)
-Murdock
-Berwick
-Tomas
-Lloyd
-Ser Perth

If you manage to do that in Normal try to post some pics or videos!

GOOD LUCK

I saved Dwyn, Ser Perth and the thugs. Only problem is my battle just wont come to an end. All undead are dead but Ser Perth is still waiting on an attack. Not good.

Same thing happened to me. It turned out there was a straggler stuck around the buildings, keep looking and you'll eventually see the red arrow pointing towards it.

On my first play through, none of the guys at the top of the hill died. Including Ser Perth, Dwyn or any of his thugs. During the fight in town, both Murdock and Tomas survived.

I don't know who Berwick or Lloyd are... so no idea if they lived through it or not.

In later playthroughs, Tomas often dies but Murdock, and everybody on the top of the hill, usually makes it.

They can be recruited @tavern to defend the town   (After u persuaede Lloyd to defend his town u can buy his whole store for free, and after battle if he survive's he give an item also :)

If you save everyone it is mentioned in the cutscene dialog.

Only Murdock died when I did it, recruited everyone else though.

I had the same problem with the battle not ending (the fight at the mill never came to an end, everyone just stood here), but I got my rogue to go into the green fog stuff and finish off one or two stragglers who for some reason never ran out to attack.

Murdock is the really hard one to save, because he starts the fight in combat with a yellow enemy by the time you even arrive. Only managed to save him once by casting force field on him. Everyone else survived without much trouble.

Does it matter game wise, or is it more of a personal accomplishment?

Mine was a damn catastrophe. Ser Perth and his knights survived, but everyone down in the village proper was killed. At least we made it through in one go, no reloads.

Did it on nighhtmare.... recived some crappy helm for the success, through out the whole event only had single militia npc die. Did it as mage with Morri, Lei and Alistair for support.

Everyone but Lloyd survived on my main, was hoping Bella would wind up owning the pub instead but no luck there unfortunately. :(

I think only Murdoch (or Murdock?) was the only one who managed to get himself killed when I played through it, even though it was a close call for Tomas as well. Then again, I like to think of it as that being more or less his own damn fault, after he decided to charge some yellow-labeled enemy when I was busy. Git. Played as a mage, with Alistair, Sten and Leliana in the party.

Is there any way to force Dwyn to fight with the militia ? Because Frankly, I think the knights can handle themselves, but I almost always end up with the whole militia dead... :/

I do find that rather amusing, that you recruit Dwyn for the purpose of having him fight with the Militia to bolster their morale so they know there's a seasoned veteran fighting alongside them and....he goes up to fight with the even more seasoned veterans, the knights.

saved every npc that was there on nightmare.

How did I do that ?

1 cleansing aura from wynn ( it effects everything) and 2 forcefields ( morrigan / wynne ).

2 tries however because first time one militia man died. I was lost to tears.

I did the quest on hard difficulty, and had none of the NPC's die. I killed Dwyn, before the battle, though.

I think it depends a lot on the luck of the roll.

I did this event 3 times, all 3 I did the exact same way - I had 3 very different outcomes.

#1 Used the oil to set a fire wall up - although it didn't really seem to help. All knights survived, about 50% of the militia fell, Alistair and Sten both fell. Murdock fell.

#2 Fire wall - Knights lived, lost only 2 militia, no one in my party died, Murdock lived.

#3 Fire wall - 3 knights died, Militia was whipped out but 1, and I was the only one left standing.

So save before big battles and keep doing it until you get the results you want. This is also a bit dis-hearting as it doesn't seem that I can effect the outcome to any degree.
