What would it be like for the male Cousland that marries her?  Would there be any love or intimacy at all?

She seems to show some affection for him in Awakenings-at least for Anora. Also, there are some references to a King on that path in DA2, making me think he does eventually become a King.Maybe down the road she feels enough trust to agree to give him that much power?

True.  I was just doing a male human noble playthrough.  I was going to have Alistair execute Loghain and then marry Anora myself, and I was just wondering if my Warden would live a sexless life.

Just take what you know about her personality and your character's and use your imagination. Do you think there will be love, intimacy and compatibility? If so, then sure. I think the writers were deliberately vague so the players could decide for themselves.

I agree. It totally depends on what your warden is like. Anora's a shrewd, hard-nosed politician, but it's not like she's incapable of affection no matter who the man in question is.

The more I think about it, the more I think she did love Cailan.  I suppose it's possible.  I like to believe my Warden loves her, at least.

Good points. Come to think of it, Loghain is the standard by which she judged men. With that in mind, maybe my Warden won't marry her. ;)

Why not? By the end of the game, the Warden is unavoidably more impressive than Loghain ever was.

True, but according to Dragon Age Wiki:
"If Anora weds The Warden who made the final sacrifice, she becomes a skilled governor, but never remarries due to her exceptional standard for a groom - her father, not Cailan or The Warden."

I would think it would depend on the warden, the circumstances. Anora can marry a Cousland who is still romancing Leliana or Zevran strictly for politics, but if he kept his lover on the side discreet and didn't embarrass her, there is the potential there that they could get along, and at least be on friendly terms. Despite his philandering, Anora seemed to care for (if not really respect) Cailan--understandable considering what a charming idiot Cailan is.

For love, sure, given time. Again it would depend on the Cousland. If you RP'ed someone who sparked her interest that she could warm up to, sure. By the end of the story, she seems to be warming up to the warden already, though that could be a mild case of hero worship. Remember, her father was Ferelden's previous "Big Hero" and now the Cousland is, so there is the bridge of one of her standards right there. When arguing for his life, she doesn't say 'please don't kill my father', it's 'he's Ferelden's greatest hero'.  It's doesn't seem to be his human quality she seems to value, (in regards toward not liking any other suitors), but a perception of the 'general and hero'.  The Cousland is a hero who hasn't let her down (so far) like her father did.  And you only get that particular flag if you die or don't marry her.  I think she sees something of the quality she's looking for in a husband and a king in the warden.

So, yea, depending on your RP, I think there could be some real love there, eventually. He'd have to win her over, and be patient.

about anyone marrying Anora?
Anora and Cailan are also childhood friends, yes?
And Cailan is 10 years older than Alistair, yes?
So that means Anora is about 10 years older than Alistair, yes?
And the PC character's about same age as Alistair, yes?

So marrying Anora is like marrying a woman who's 10 years my senior, no?

I suspect if OP toodles on over to fanfic.net or, if OP is adventuresome and over 18, the DA Kink Meme, OP will find many stories exploring very many possibilities of an Anora marriage.

Some more plausible than others. ;)

Anora is probably about 10 years older than the human noble Warden. Then again, Grey Wardens only live for 30 years at most, so he'll probably still die before her. Anora definitely looks good for her age too.

And what do *you* think a 30 year old woman should look like????

As I said, Anora is capable of love, and my Cousland is certainly attracted to her, so even though the game doesn't say so, I believe they could definitely fall in love with each other.

My King Cousland kept Leliana as his love, but he certainly respected Anora, and probably in his own way cared for her as well. Marrying her was strictly politics so he could help her solidify her position with the nobility of Ferelden. I suppose he could have married her to Alistair, keeping it in the line of King Calenhad, but Alistair wasn't prepared for it, didn't want it and was more than happy to give up the throne. (He was unhardened).

Considering he left matters of state up to her, and the security of Ferelden was his primary concern, I believe they had an amicable union, even if it was lacking in passion and like to think they could have become friends given time.

There is no *should* in some textbook sense. I was just commenting on the fact that I find her rather attractive, as would most men. I can comment on candy that tastes good even though there is no officially "good flavor*.  Physical attractiveness is technically subjective, but certain appearances are considered to be more attractive by larger portions of the population than other appearances are. Anora is physically fit, feminine looking, and youthful.

She is aware of it, too.  According to Arl Eamon, it didn't take her long to get Cailan to fall for her.

My male Cousland married Anora strictly to advance his own ambitions. Hence his toss-away line to Eamon: "And she's single, right?" But he was a warrior first and last, so he'd have had no objections to Anora schmoozing the bannorn and balancing the books as long as she knew who was running the army. My male Cousland persuaded Zevran to stick around, just in case she ever forgot. You never know when an assassin will come in handy, especially with divorce lawyers being so pricey and all. But that's just a contingency, because I imagine once my male Cousland sexed her up, the little Ice Princess would melt pretty quickly.
