There are times when there is a Blood Mage on the battlefield off in the corner just taking magical pop shots at the team. When I try to go toe-2-tow with one, I often times have a difficult time getting close to them. I know that it has something to do with the Tactics settings. Can someone provide me with the correct syntex?
NOTE - I am on a PS3 (not sure if that matters?).

Hmm. "How to attack the same target?" is not the same problem as 'I have a difficult time getting close to them".
Not sure about the PS3, on the PC there is a tactic for attack same target as {name}, you can then set {name} to attack nearest {class} or select the target manually and then everyone should swarm that target.
As for getting close to them, well that really depends on terrain, intervening minions and spell effects. How you overcome them is situational.

Alternatively, rather than be tactics dépendent, you can use the "hold" button under the character image, then select all of your team [ctrl+A), and then launch your attack. Once you select a single character, to give specific instructions, you will need to renew the "hold", then (ctrl+A) selection process - and so on. Fastidious, but gives you greater control if you want to micro-manage
