If you have any left on wave 11, shoot them towards the air.

Missiles are for console scrubs who can't aim.
This is why I bring Armored Compartments. I can't aim missiles either.

I blame aim assist.

I don't care what anyone does in the game mostly. If I do get sync killed, and there is only one player left, I do think they should use a missile to be safe (as the game is at stake). Other than that, I don't care if people nuke wave 11; I will have a higher score than them anyway

If you get sync killed and there is one player left, I hope that one player is me so that I can pointedly not use missiles.

Missile use can be a good indicator of personality. The "I must come first at all costs" will hold on to a few missiles for wave 11 so they can pump up their score.
Then you have the player who refuses to "waste" a missile even though it will take them 20 minutes trying to carry a wave with their Predator 1.
I have been in the EZ with no enemies threatening and a couple of unused missiles and a quick check of the score shows that I am say 2000 points behind first place. I am not going to cheapen what was a good game and contest by nuking a couple of distant spawns so I can top the leaderboard.

Missiles are for clean-up (last bosses of a wave), for objectives and for saving useful teammates (the rest can die for all I care).

The only time you should use missiles is when one of your friends dies in between waves.

My pesonal policy is;
- saving teammates from sync kills (if possible)
- target objectives (possible bonus if done quickly)
- extraction wave, if the EZ is getting overwhelmed
- trying to solo that last boss on a wave and you've trying to use an Acolyte to take him down
- occasionally the Marauder(s) that stagger me too much if I'm trying to revive myself (I don't like that elbow)

On geth games, I run out of missiles by wave 5. That's my strategy, I guess.

Keep em until you need em. Nothing sucks worse than realizing that if you hadn't wasted em before, you'd have survived the encounter you're in now.

Seems like you are already using your missiles wisely :-). If you have any left on wave 11 and want to go crazy with missiles I won´t partake but also see no problem with that. I do find it annoying though if people don´t seem to have any missiles to spare for targets on wave 10 or during that cozy London center hack but then go around nuking stuff at extraction.

One thing I am sad to see nobody mention yet is possessed abominations near teammates. Always missile those.

Here's how I think of it:
Is using a missile this way something I would find annoying if someone else was doing it?
If so: don't use it
If not: go ahead and use it
What that means is all up to you.
Just some examples, though:
I would be kind of annoyed if a PUG used a missile on my mom.
I however, would not be annoyed if a PUG used a missile to cleanse my house of termites.
I would be annoyed if I was trying to disarm a bomb and a PUG used a missile on that bomb.
I would not be annoyed if a PUG used a missile to help me get rid of some books I don't want anymore.
