Hi all. Does anyone have a good trick for making an overview shoot, from a city lets say, but with the camera actually moving in the cutscene? I tried doing it with rats, the camera following their movement, but you always see the little dot(rat) moving.

Lol I had no idea how to do it until I read your post.  Just give the rat an invisible appearance (e.g. air elemental without VFX).

Don't know if this would work, but you might be able to make the rat invisible by applying an effect from a script right before you start the scene.

The appearance alone I don't think it would help. But the script could, why not :D. Invisible rats... what else will I make...

By the way, I also tried rescaling the rat to something smaller... they don't seem to want to follow their walk paths like that.

The appearance worked, no need for script. Just rat as air elemental without the vfx, and the camera follows it without it being visible. Cool.

Sorry I missed this post. I did it with an invisible Kobold, that worked well and I got the camera to pan over the PC's head as he/she walked up a path by having the kobold run past them.

There's quite a lot you can do with this with a little imagination me thinks.

Post us a vid :)

I mainly wanted to use it for big area entrances. Like entering a big city, and the camera takes a nice shot over it moving towards the docks or whatever. Of course now that I saw it working, more stuff coming to mind. But once I make something complete I will post some vid why not :).
