Now who doesn't think that guy looks like a complete badass soldier.  And a sentinel from ME2.

I will mention that the salarian "sentinels" never used a single biotic power in ME2, if memory serves.

Not much of a sentinel without 1 biotic power and one tech power, right?

INB4 N7 paladin and volus merc.

Which of the official "classes" would you put a kit with Tech armor, Incinerate and Energy Drain into? To me that is a Sentinel (although a pretty boring one with potentially broken DR) rather than an Engineer but there is no reason why such a kit should exist from a thematic point of view.

Tech armor, Incinerate and Energy Drain? Three tech powers?

I'd call it an engineer.

Just because tech armour was sentinel specific for shepard in ME2 doesn't make it the defining characteristic of a sentinel, it's just another (admittedly quite good) tech power.

To me Sentinels are now tanky characters rather tech/biotic hybrids and have been since me2 when all classes became more defined.

Volus are not a joke. Their inclusion is humorous, but they are far from a joke. I think your post and your opinion is a joke.

Putting the Volus on the battlefield is obviously a joke from the lore perspective.

Then again, lore doesn't play a a significant factor in MP.

I was just about to say something like that. The kits are not a joke, they are powerful. The fact that they are Voluses is the joke.

I'm pretty sure the volus are listed as reserve / support troops in the codex.

Ergo, they're not a joke, just humorous to play.

Yes, yes they are.

Note how I said that the Volus lethal joke characters (except for the Mercenary - that one is a straight-up joke character).

The Volus kits are hilarious. They have almost no carrying capacity, their shields and health are pitiful even with 6 ranks in fitness, many of their powers have crazy cooldown times, they can't take hard cover, and, well, look at them!

But put them into the hands of a competent player with the right specs and gear... and they can be everything from the ultimate support to an invincible tank of death.

The lethal joke character is something that looks ridiculous, but with enough skill and preparation, can be, well, godly.

I have no idea about any of this stuff. People actually play the single player?

Of course :), its where the asari strippers are, its where you can b***** slap people just because you feel like it, its where you can be a douche, its where you can bang in your private quarters and move on to the next one(or be faithful :innocent:), space magic and red sand

Tech armour is what mainly defines sentinels in ME2 and ME3

So a salarian sentinel with a couple tech powers, as well as tech armour would have been perfect

Apologies for missing your obscure reference to an obscure phrase relating to an obscure fragment of popular culture.

Volus are not a joke. Their inclusion adds a little humour, a little comic cuteness... however they have lore to back them up and your labelling them as a "joke" is unwarranted. They were included because players sought support characters in MP; volus proved to be a cute, humorous and lore friendly way of adding support kits to the game... Being humorous does not infer that they are a joke. If they'd given them wings, 1 damage bows and arrows and other such foolishness you could refer to them as "jokes".

The fact that the volus were prepared to modify their suits and join the fight proved just how tenacious and respect worthy they really were... on the other hand, your Salarians got pissy and took a strop when they realised the Krogan were joining the party. From a lore perspective, having only a handful of salarians makes more sense.

Simply being a certain shape or size does not make the volus a joke either. I could point out that Salarians that don't even live for 30 years and lack any real physical strength could be considered a "joke" when put in combat roles, but something tells me that you wouldn't be bothered about such technicalities.

A krogan, laughing his ass off while smacking enemies about incurs laughter: Does this mean the krogan are a joke too, by your logic?

Just let the guys know to rectify the situation with amply STG representation in the next game Bryan and we're cool.

What do you mean by STG representation?

They're the folks who plant intel in annoying locations for hack circles.

"A Salarian STG team planted intel here."

Don't know about that one dude. Salarians can use all the guns (even heavy ones like claymore). Moreover, Andersons tells Shepard in a log how a salarian spectre knocked out all the roudy guys in a club who were drinking with Anderson upon his admission in the N7 program and then started to fight with him (Anderson) when he ran out of credits.

I like Robin Sachs, don't get me wrong. But a Salarian Bulwark Sentinel could've been so awesome...

Well we listened to fan feedback, and the call for more Salarians came right before Retaliation was released. By that point it was too late for Retaliation, and for reckoning we decided to go back to create full new characters.

You want to say... That would be possible before Retaliation, to give us more Salarians and maybe more female quarians? Damn bad luck... <_<

Same here for me, but in my cannon... I make a peace between Geth and Quarians, so why there is only two female quarians, while there is three male quarians and four geth?

Too bad, that support is ended, and there is no chances for new characters. ;/

Now that the Genophage has been cured, the Salarians are FRANTIC to find hidden and secure spots for their clutches. Volus entrepreneurs have already been spotted in Salarian space claiming to spot out routes for Krogan travellers interested in the finer art of haute cuisine.

Meanwhile the Female Salarian just have had ENOUGH. They too want the cool stuff and be awesome like Asari maiden. They are tired of hearing their males talking about lovely shades of blue.
In a sense of commercial profits to be made, human fashion artists have developed a new line of apparel addressing this new Salarian demand. Clubs open all over Sur'Kesh and the Salarian youth is rather busy moving to beats than caring for warfare.

For real? Or did you just mix it up with a Portal2 playthrough?
