Hell assassins creed started as what was essentially just prince of persia smashed together with splinter cell.

I miss the trilogy games, they were really fun, Return of The King, 3 players running across the bridge to escape (or fight back? Can't remember) while being attacked in the City of The Dead, the original score for the film just made it even more epic.

Even if it isn't a direct rip off of AC's codes it still looks like a copy.
Though I don't actually mind that, I think it can work well with LOTR.
Graphically it looks good. Not fantastic, but good. Though it seemed to me that the Orcs were slightly lesser detail.
I'm just really bummed about the main character. Again we have to play as Geralt/Connor Kenway/Altair grumpy man clone.
I really wish they would play with Character Creator when they make a game without the original characters anyway.

I'm sick'n'tired of those endless Middle Earth MMO games.
So this might be different...
That's ironic, since LOTRO is truer to the books than the films are xD

I applaud them for that, but I have neither the time nor the patience to really get into MMOs.simfamSP wrote...

Shadows just looks like someone took an interesting idea and shoehorned it into LotR lore.

I thought Battle For Middle Earth 2 was amazing. I think it's better than any LOTR mod but then again, I don't know what mod you're referring to. War in the North was good too but not amazing. BFME II though? Man, back in 2007 I played that for hours on end. I loved it.

Right up until the part where its takes a dive into fantastical bollocks, and the cult nonesense as opposed to good ol' fashioned unpredictable hobo enemies. Ethan gaining super powers and what have you.. Ew.Naughty Bear wrote...

Monolith? Good god.. They haven't made a good game since Condemned.
Condemned 2 was awesome
Haven't played it. I found the F.E.A.R games to be quite lacking in atmosphere and rather weak as horror games overall. The whole slow-mo SMG action kills it.Fear 3 was also fun. Especially the run for your life and horde. Granted it isn't scary, but It was solid and fun.

I thought that Gameplay looked really uninspired. Stealth Walking looked like Batman and the rest of the movement looked like Assassins creed to the point where a AC2 Developer tweeted his surprise about the simmilarities.
I will never understand that...
Infamous, Uncharted, the latest Tomb Raider (though she did have a hook to help in the videos I saw), and most other climbing game all use the same climbing animations. Unless that former developer wrote the code for all of the climbing in those games I do not see how it's similar. Besides the fact that people generally climb in a similar (if not the same) fashion anyways so it kind of makes sense to emulate that.
As for the air assassinations I find it hard to picture a different way to perform them. I will admit that the part with the wires in between the buildings is a little off setting, but other than that I can't see how it's blatantly "stealing teh codez1!" from AC2.

Lots of new stuff since January.
I'm glad Mordor won't just be a bleak, dull rock the movies had shown it to be.

So are anti-heroes these days the real heroes and heroes the anti-heroes? Thus the heroism is anti-heroism and anti-heroism is the real heroism. Now which is cooler... heroism or anti-heroism?
^ Best question evar! ^

and..
Unless I can play as or interact with one or more of the protagonists and antagonists of LOTR, I have no intention in playing a random player in middle earth who will never confront anyone important.

The wraith is supposed to be an important figure in Tolkien's lore. So yeah, there's one. I think the Mouth of Sauron has already appeared.

Looking at their Games Library, the quality is a bit all over the place. Could go either way, I suppose.Be very, Very careful when buying this game. Monolith has done a really poor job with their last 2 games.
The game looks great(though not necessarily pushing the PS4 to its limit). I'm not sure it's a must-buy. AC and Uncharted definitely have influence, but the nemesis system sounds interesting enough.

Man I loved LOTOR:BFME 2, my brother and I would play that game for hours; and on the Xbox 360 version no less!
My favorite thing about the game was the heroes; granted the console versions didn't let you customize and you had to pick pre-mades; my personal favorite being Shelob.
I can remember one game my brother and I were going up against a Dwarf and Gondor player (I was Goblins and my brother was Gondor) and they pushed us back to our bases until I got Shelob out and my brother built Boromir; two of the weaker heroes; at least compared to Aragon, Gandalf, Gloin and Gimlee. In fact the two opposing players were calling us noobs for picking such weak hero units.
Using the horn of Gondor and Shelob's inspire terror, not only did we prevent the destruction of our bases, but we were able to keep our opponents' armies stunned; and working in conjunction; our Shelob and Boromir were level 10s and more then a match for Aragon and Galdalf, and Gimlee and Gloin.
It was hilarious hearing our opponents swearing through their headsets at us; assuming we were cheating because Shelob and Boromir were such low tier, and no one should be able to beat their heroes. After we defeated their attack, using (pretty much) only our two heroes, the other players ragequit.
