Tevinter isn't the most powerful nation though.

In Andrastian Thedas, I would say that they are, if only because they are still standing after pretty much everyone has hammered at them for centuries, and because they are busy holding off the Qunari.

The only ones they've been at war with for centuries are the Qunari, and the Qunari beat them into a boody pulp when the Qunari themselves were commited to the war. Tevinter borders have been shrinking for the better part of the Andrastian calendar. Nevarra and Orlais are doing far better.
But it all is rather irrelevant since it is the Qunari who are unquestionably the strongest nation at this time.

That I can certainly agree with. The Qunari are the strongest by far at this time.

Let's hope we can take them down a peg or ten soon.

It would be an interesting twist of events if you take down the Qunari as a Tal-Vashoth Inquisitor.

That would reduce them to like -5 on the scale, lol. But whatever floats your boat.

I'd rather enjoy playing a Tal-Vashoth who was exiled from the Qun. Everyone else is stupid bas, the fade wouldn't have ripped if they cut out the tongues from their saarebas.

Nice. However, I am going to be a Tal-Vashoth mage who teaches the Qunari the right way to treat their mages.

I'm usually a diehard human mage player... I actually can't wait to play as a Tal-Vashoth mage.

speaking of Tal-Vashoth mages... How come we never seen a Quanri mage in the circle? Or have heard of one?

Perhaps the prejudice of mages extends to the Tal-Vashoth as well? I don't imagine Templars would recognise the difference anyway.

It may not be exactly the same thing, but there is a saarebas being held in a Circle of Magi in the Redemption web series.

That, I believe, is a rather special case. And I believe that the Sarebaas was being held captive in the Gallows.

Redemption was a terrible series. I refuse to acknowledge that crap as real canon.

Regardless, it is canon, although I am not a fan either. The only interesting piece was the mask of Fen'Harel concept.

You're right, and thank you :)  I apologize, I had forgotten the specifics there.

My apologies here as well, mate :)  You clearly knew of the character already, and the details regarding him were not exactly as I had recalled and unfortunately not as related your discussion as I'd thought at first.

Not disagreeing on how it was horrible, but it IS canon. There are some parts of the DA canon I consider garbage, but I still have to accept them.

Like for instance some of the comics that acted as a prequel to DAO, or how the Stolen Throne was written.

Are you sure this crap is canon? It wasn't even written by David Gaider; the Maker of DA. It was written by Felicia Day according to Wika. Of course this woman also had to be the main star of the series, too, on top it off. Very poor and David Gaider and the rest of Bioware would shame us all if they acknowledge that this was in fact canon, and not a fanfiction base.

Dragon Age 2 looks pretty damn good comparing to the quality of Redemption.

Gaider is the Lead Writer, not sole maker of the series. Although Felicia Day wrote it, Bioware added the basic facts into the lore, giving us Tallis' backstory for Mark of the Assassin. And although it was not that great, Bioware hardly "shames us" by adding it to the lore.

Stolen Throne is not a bad book. In fact I'm almost half way into it. I was heavily persuaded by some people here on this very same thread to read Asunder, and that I did, and I've abandoned the book until I finish reading Asunder (I'm currently on  chapter as we speak).

It's not good IMO -- though your opinion should be your own, so don't let what I'm about to say color your judgment too much.

I found it to be scarce on action and IIRC a certain scene right not correct on war, and Loghain is written in such a way that I want to throttle him because he comes off as moronic regarding politics more then he did in DAO. In DAO, he was bad but had at least some grasp of it. In the book, his ideas of what makes a king are atrocious because it's just... counter-intuitive I guess would be a word.

Maric is a buffoon, and not a very lovable one, in how he acts. Some of what he does I can excuse or justify or at least not condemn against him solely, but still...

The Stolen Throne is essentially shallow on the plot of the rebellion and heavy on unresolved sexual tension and angst and lunacy. Which while I have no problem with angst or UST, they should not come at the expense of the story.

There are good moments, though. But I definitely wasn't a fan of the book after reading it, and recent discussions I've had on it have pointed out other flaws with it.

Nope. Not even they interested me. I was only interested in how an ancient Dalish artifact could cut a hole into the Fade. Perhaps it was a relic from Arlathan.
