If black people are like mages, why can't I shoot fireballs out of my hand?

You know pro-templars remind me of the ****s white people during the Civil Rights movement. You know like the cops who would spray high pressure fire hoses into a crowd of peaceful protesters or sick attack dogs on them. Then there are the others would would beat a black kid to death for being "uppity" or having the addasity to think they were the same as the white folk. You are just like them. Saying it is okay to take everything a black person has and destroy it, such as their homes and business, then hang them from the nearest tree because they dared to be like the good white folk and not stay in their place.

All I really got to say to this.

The irony is, Hanar was't even responding to that. Saying that mages are dangerous is in no way to saying that black people are not equal to white people, Hanar himself you not even knowing about.

Does anyone actually dispute that mages have a dangerous element in them?

@Br3d: That's how it read to me. But I think I understand what the other poster was trying to say. Sort of.

Yes.  I've mowed them down by the dozens.  Truly, I am the most dangerous thing in Thedas.

What the poster is trying to say is wrong, so it really doesn't matter. Besides, we understood it just fine.

No. Everything I've read no one says mage's don't have a dangerous element in them, most just point out that mundane can be dangerous too. The pro-templars seem to dislike that a lot.

No, what they say is that they are just as dangerous as the mundane, which is not true. Some even go on to say that they are not dangerous at all. If you have not seen this, you haven't been reading this or the Templar thread. If you believe that mages are just as dangerous as a guy with a sword, you are only fooling yourself.

I don't think that the other poster was wrong. They shouldn't have posted it but what they are trying to say isn't wrong. That is if I'm reading it right.

*sigh*

Yes, because comparing the evils of a bunch of backward idiots who went around hanging, beating, burning and constantly intimidating people because of their notions of superiority and bigotry based upon the pixellation of their skin is truly the same thing as locking a group full of people in a tower because they can turn into unimagineable horrors, and if they don't do that, then they can shoot fireballs out of their hands. The irrational hatred of people who have never posed a threat or did anything wrong is truly comparable to the rational fear of people who are far more powerful than you who can lose control of themselves to beings that are even more powerful than them. It is idiotic analogies like this, and idiotic accustaions like yours, that tear away any credibility and respectability from the "pro-Mage" argument. People who make arguments like that and people who make accusations like you have absolutely no respect for people or context. If you took even one second to open up a history book, then you would understand the differences between these two situations. Do some Templars hunt mages because they feel that they are an abomination against the Maker? Yes. But the overall idea behind the Circle and the forming of the Templars has absolutely nothing to do with that, and if you paid any sort of attention to Lyrium addiction, then you would understand that some Templars go made. That is not even remotely comparable to a mob of white people going into a town, tearing every black person out of their home, killing them, and then teaching their children that their skin color and their culture is inferior.

Get a clue.

Good day.

I'm pretty sure that other poster was not talking about the dangers of mages, but of their conditions in the Circles under the authority and control of the Chantry and the Templars.

No I haven't been reading many threads of either really, I only got this profile for Orgin. Mages are dangerous and can be more dangerous then mundane with swords but it all depends on the person. If the mage is a sociopath or a psyhcopath then they are so much more dangerous that it is terrifying to think of but the same thing could be said about a mundane with a sword. Also if they are cornered, the whole turning into a monster thing is dangerous.

Yes, because the mages are beaten, raped and lynched by the Templars, right?

Or maybe I missed the part where they are told that they and their ancestors are inferior in every way, and that they should conform to their worldview.

Or maybe I missed the part where they were whipped constantly?

Or maybe I missed the part where they weren't allowed to eat the same food or drink the same water?

Or how about the times where the Templars forced the Mages into unpaid labor under the harshest conditions.

Again. Stupid analogy.

No, what he is talking about is a group of real life people and then going on to call them racist just for supporting the Templars, which even in itself does not mean that they support everyone of their policies, which are not even universal within themselves.

Moral of this story: "When you assume make an ass out of u and me."

A mage will always be more dangerous. No matter their sanity level. And demons will always flock to them. There is no escaping of that. I'd fear the sane mage more than the crazy peasant with a kitchen knife, and it's not because they are different than me.

Yet you're more than happy to call me a bigot for expressing how idiotic I felt that argument was.

So I guess you're just a person who loves to throw around baseless accusations. Congrats.

I'm more pro-mage than pro-Templar. Continue to make assumptions.

Just because I support one side more than the other, does not mean that I will ignore their dangers. Such actions are foolish, and quite frankly worse than the alternative or seeing only the dangers.
