Maybe Shield Bash in this game does way more damage to enemies than it used to? I never play rpgs with the mindset that these are normal humans... regular people can't get hit with a warhammer and keep fighting.

It's no more unrealistic than a great number of gameplay abilities in previous games.

I guess the fact that I have a level 21 warrior with the same amount of Strength as your level 35 doesn't nothing for you. ?

Why would I care?

i admit you are giving me a laugh at your attempts to make me mad though. Isn't that something the mods usually hand out temp bans for? ;)

They should build a fortress out of people.

Thinking about it, a Tevinter Magister has probably already had this idea

Unfortunately since bones are still brittle, it seems to be the flesh that is sturdy... so we need to build a flesh fortress with an - do not rot- enchantment.

When in doubt call It a game and say everything is made up so anything is possible. People only use that arguement when they have ran out of valid points.

But it is a game and everything made up. Including the gameplay and the developer long ago decided that gameplay would not be 100% realistic in every possible way. Accept it or move in stop picking and choosing what counts and doesnt because you need something to complain about.

Wraith 02 wrote...

Even if it is a game it still has to adhere to it's own lore in order to be believable and mantain any kind of integrity.

No it does not have to. In fact none of the Dragon Age games have so you might as well give up on them since it has never been the franchise you seem to imagine it to be.

Have fun twisting your panties because even if the gate bashing does get changed or all together removed there will still be a plethora of lore breaking gameplay.

Unless the gate is composed of severely corroded iron (should be colored reddish brown) or Cass's strength is drastically amplified by magic, a single human being able to destroy a defensive metal gate renders siege equipment redundant, storywise.

If the gate isn't corroded who in their right mind would construct one that's incapable of resisting the strength of a single person? Also if Cass's gate smashing feat isn't a one time only display i question the logic behind constructing defensive features that a single strongman can destroy.

Hitpoints are a necessary evil. Gate-bashing is unnecessary.

You can knock over Golems with Overpower with 1 strength dumbo.(modded to 1) The chances are just less. That may take a while to test too..

My stats are as they are because I dont like playing characters who can go about OHKOing Archdemons for kicks.

My warden is a DWW by the way. He doesn't use shields.

@JB Fair enough. Thats a threshold that would not be possible in the game without modding though.

Why don't you just take your dick out and get it over with.

I take your sturdy flesh fortress and raise you 1 Qunari with supergate bash ability.

On a more serious side. Some SRPG I have played have had gates and other breakable objects have hit points too. Which I think is a good idea in this context.

That way we have the same abstraction for damage... and the world seem just more internal logical.

Flesh can still withstand that long enough. Espically since we make it out of former player characters and companions... their flesh can withstand everything.

Sure, I might be cool with that aslong as the big iron gate doesn't shatter & after only two hits.

Could use the murder dagger but i suppose that is dependant on whether or not the flesh is living or dead

Why don't you and Captain "Realism" get comfortable with the fact that this is a fantasy game in which character's have powers that normal human's dont.

AND THEN HE can recognize that he didnt have the proper statistics necessary to get the results HE claims are unachievable.

That would also get around akward questions like... Why can I bash it with a shield, but not melt it with fire or destroy it with an earthquake.

Instead it would simply be... The gate can withstand x amount of damage. That number should of course be higher than what an avarage human has.

We could then also have a 'demolish' skill that allows you to due more damages to objects (such as doors) because your characters with this skill knows to not just bash at the gate, but for example attack the hinges (I don't know if this is the right words in english).

I've argued this point before, briefly, as I think "Cassandragate" is ridiculous to nitpick over...

but here you go.

If a warrior can SHOUT and knock a bunch of people over -
If a rogue can turn invisible 'just because he's sneaky' -
If a warrior can alter their stance and suddenly become invulnerable to harm and impervious to being knocked over -
If a rogue can fire a bow into the air and have a hailstorm of arrows plummet down -

if those and dozens of other 'physically impossible' things can happen in the game, then a warrior bashing down a gate is no more a suspension of disbelief UNLESS you are being AGGRESSIVELY selective.

I never got involved in your warrior golem random conversation.

I called you an idiot because you think you can punch a portcullis to pieces

acting like a troll doesn't change that, it actually makes you look like a bigger idiot with an ego issue.
I couldn't care less about your ability to build a rogue with massive armor xD

However your derailment of this thread is going to get it locked, so stfu about your "uber warrior" that nobody gives a damn about and get back to your original point about the legitimacy of punching your way into a castle
