Rammstein, Metallica, Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold, (Early)King Diamond, Dream Theatre, Judas Priest, and Dio.
You could always name it "The Official Metal Thread" or something like that. Most of my favorites of metal are either thrash metal, industrial metal, power metal, or the more progressive-y stuff like Dream Theatre.

Probably my bias towards my fellow Vikings speaking. Nowhere else captures the feel as well. :S

Pretty cool 1950s pure-metal teapot with a stainless finish. I've been trying to get into metalworking for a while, having seen some people make some pretty cool things. If I recall, someone in the late 70s actually made a car out of pure metal. Obviously it didn't run too well, but it looked pretty good, almost like the Monopoly car.

Outside of that, I don't really listen to all that much of it. Alcest is one I really like though. Shoegaze is my favorite type of music so the whole combination of that and black metal just sounds so amazing to my ears.
seriously so good wow

Listening to Decade of Aggression right now, in fact. Kick ass live album.
Beyond that, I love Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica, and most other classic heavy metal and thrash bands.

Probably because some people consider blurred genres like Metalcore to be "fake Metal." But I don't either. That's generally what I like, although heavier is good too.
Most recently, I picked up Parkway Drive's newest Album, Atlas. Friggin' amazing! And Children of Bodom's most recent as well. Not so amazing....but not bad. Track 5 is killer though, "Bodom Blue Moon." Definitely check that one out if you are a fan of the Finnish reapers (my COB nickname).

This is the internet.
People will consider anything they don't personally like as "fake metal".
There also appears to be somewhere between 5 and 10 million sub-genres of metal that I can't be asked to know the difference between.
