Also the game Brutal Legend should always be recommended because it goes to 11!

I pretty much have to point to The Top 10 Most Metal Games Ever as a good place to get your metal on. "Pretending to be a rock star while playing toy instruments. Now that's metal." Couldn't agree more. I think their game choices are pretty spot on, though.

Brutal Legend(like quite a few of double fine's games) aren't particularly balanced, but it's chock full of creativity, and they absolutely nailed the environmental art style.

Such as Falconer: Mindtraveller & Vargaskall

Or Keldian: Heart of the Sun, Beyond the Stars, The Last Frontier, Burn the Sky & Never Existed
Obvious promotion here, but there aren't that many Sci-Fi bands out there and these two guys deserve more fame.

Dreamtale's debut album Beyond Reality is a great one for me too: Call of the Wild
