Nah, he was a jet fighter pilot - you must be mixing up folk.

You're thinking of Randy Quaid.

Reload cancelling is WAAAAAAAY easier on PC. Just assign Medigel's secondary key binding to the key of your choice (I like the 'E' key), and presto! Instant all-purpose easy access reload cancelling!

Also note that you can turn your camera while you sprint. IIRC, the camera is locked during a sprint on consoles, because reasons. But on PC, you can actually run, turn while running, and see where you are going all at the same time!

People might disagree with me on the importance of this, but that frakking camera is what breaks the console Mass Effect experience for me.

Finally, welcome to PC ME3!

As I recall, you've played MP on console, so you're familiar with what characters can in game - movement, weapons, powers, etc. However, controlling your character with keyboard & mouse is very different from an xbox or ps3 controller. Remapping keys is helpful - see saxybeast's post, above, as well as a lot of useful posts on that subject on this forum.
Stick with bronze until you get the hang of the keyboard & mouse.

If you game on the PC, you'll be aware of the suggestions below.
mSI afterburner is a decent & free screen capture and video recorder.
Make sure your vid driver is current.
Keep your mousepad clean - a gummed up optical mouse will mess up your gaming.
Use a hard wired internet connection rather than a wireless one.
If your mouse is a standard one - may be good enough for browsing, but not for gaming - consider upgrading to a gaming grade mouse with programmable buttons (useful for key mapping).

There is this crutch to memorize: U.N.C.L.E.

If I just were able to recall what the letters stood for. Maybe someone can help out?

United Network Command for Law and Enforcement

If you need more details, you can ask the Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Solo? So it just comes down to doing Solos again? Maybe S.P.E.C.T.R.E. would be a better option. They have satellites, spaceships and all that stuff I hear.

* Get a good mouse with additional buttons that can be accessed easily. My preference goes to side buttons above the thumb but anything goes as long as you're comfortable with it.
* Then assign one of those buttons to medigel.
* Learn how to reload cancel.
* Profit.

Seriously, take some time to test different mice (unless you already have one you are comfortable with), that makes all the difference.

I have quickslots 1, 2 and 3 on my thumb buttons, then 4 and 5 on the DPI buttons, then 6, 7 and 8 on the mouse wheel buttons.  I use Ctrl as the secondary key for medi then use my pinky to reload cancel.  Sorted!

Always check for a p*nis.

What? Like I'm the only one who thought that.

I second this wholeheartedly.
I play with a Razer Naga and can't live without the thing anymore.  Obviously you don't have to have something as fancy as that (those things get expensive), but a decent gaming mouse with some extra, programmable keys is an absolute lifesaver.
On the naga I have the thumb grid bound to all my quickslots, so my left hand is concerned only with movement controls.  Makes the game go a LOT smoother.

EDIT: Because I'm a derp who forgets stuff.  Also OP, feel free to add me on Origin (ID is in sig) and I'd be happy to play a few games with you while you get used to things.

I'll add you as soon as I get home!  I may not be on much today as I have work and then D&D game afterwards but I'll definitely be on tomorrow evening.  Most of my playtime tends to be late evening/night, I'm in EST.

Welcome to PC, I think you'll like it better here.  :)

it looks like Origin is malfunctioning I better hope it will fix itself up.
in meantime I think I have to do a check to make sure everything is okay.
