I really really want to shout from the rooftops what we're planning and show you the beautiful mock ups and prototypes and seriously crazy web development things I've learned over the past year that I just found out today have shifted my personality type from an ESFP to an ENTP. Crazy! But the problem is that until things are 100% locked, they can change (which sounds redundant). So we really can't say anything until it's locked in. This applies for any feature in a game or any announcement we make. We can't talk about it until we're ready. I don't ask that you trust that what we're doing is going to be good. Show, don't tell. If you choose to stick around when we reveal those things, I will let you be the judge of it.
Unrelated. I've never been a fan of distracting bad news with shiny things.
I'm sorry to say this really ticks me off. Functionality has been stripped from this community site for over a year now. We've not been gaining
anything in return. Now we're losing even more on no promise whatsoever.
Here's what's been happening form my perspective.
1. I am in the femshep fandom, our subforum vanished because of infighting in that subforum. The alternative we were suggested was to use groups. Now you are removing groups.
2. I am an active modder and have been for years, people contact me often with questions and requests. Since the messaging restrictions were put in this has also been made harder, less appealing to people.
3. I use both blogposts and projects to put forward tutorials and modding recources. I have a modding thread that links to all my projects. I have stuck years of work in all of these so when you remove the creation of new Projects and Blog functionality you are scattering this info and making it harder to find. It also makes me having a thread on the BSN to keep all info as close together as possible
absolutely meaningless.
It is more logical for me, if i'm stripped from further project and blog functionality, to move
everything I've done offsite. You literally have years of modding, tutorial and resource wealth in your projects and blogs spanning over many of your games so it
will be fractioned from that point on.
Look, ultimately I will be happy to host my modding resources and guides somewhere else but you've been fractioning the 'Bioware fandom" for over a year now and that's more your loss then ours. You have fans here that have established something over years of loving your games and being here, specifically here. That's what official forums are for. Honestly, those are the people you do this for, so what is going on!
Change is good yes, an overhaul is
LONG overdue but you can't take vital parts of a community away. At the very least functionality should be preserved untill there is an alternative to take that functionality over. I understand that purging and starting fresh is usefull, but I think project functionality should seriously be preserved.
Also I'd personally seriously suggest updating your OP with the extra information you've posted in responce to people about changes, because it's rather hard to find scattered over the pages.
