I'm playing SOZ now and that's the expansion I like the best, mostly because of the party construction thing. It's too bad it doesn't start at level one, like a real DD campaign. I just started with the OC and exported my character. I am actually really excited about playing this game and building my characters. I hate the auto-level. Now that I'm thinking about it I can remember DD modules that did not start at level one. But the players would bring in characters they built in other dungeons. I'm going to switch over to Mask after my main guy hits level 14. I went through the OC for a second time and I actually liked the drama better with the NPCs. The story is definitely really good in the OC, with the shards. There's better dungeon crawls than in Sands, which seems to be mostly on the boring overland map. I dig dungeon crawls and so far have been dissapointed by Sands. NWN2 is a game I will play for years to come (the rest of my life?) and derive much happiness from.

And by the way I did figure out you get more XP without other characters present. It's the same as DD, where it is divided between the active parties.

There is no autolevel when I play SoZ. I've played it a few times starting with a level one party.

One way to get more XP out of SoZ while soloing is to have an animal companion or familiar summoned. The XP calculation when you leave an encounter area looks at the average party level, so having party members that are at a lower level than you (like the afore-mentioned pets) proves beneficial. You only need to summon them before leaving the encounter area, not during combat.

What is 'Sands'? Have you been the victim of an autocorrect function?

Weird, you should be levelled to 4 (adjusted for ECL races). It's been a while, but I think it happens when you talk to the captain.

I've heard occasionally (such as on the NWN Podcast from years past) Storm of Zehir being referred to as Sands of Zehir.  Understandable, since we most often only use the acronym.

'Scales of Zehir' would seem to be more appropriate.
