There is a major element of PvP you aren't accounting for... Making the enemy miss. Halo jumping, drop shotting, circle strafing and of course, taking cover (hard cover/right hand advantage in ME, head glitching in PvP). Sure we have dodge rolls in ME, but it's one dimensional compared to PvP.
I'm not saying the average ME3MP gamer would suck at PvP... I'm saying a gamer who was an exclusive RPG/action adventure player would suck at PvP. Whether or not you want to admit it, that's what makes up a significant portion of the ME3MP player base. How many times have we heard on BSN someone say, "This is my first ever multiplayer game." Quite a bit. Dat galactic readiness lol.
One of the best players I've played with didn't play much else other than RPGs before ME3... if he ever picked up an FPS it might take him a day of playing before he was "good" at that game. The best players at this game are the ones who learn the fastest and learn the most playstyles.. you don't think that would transfer into an FPS?
ill just pop on in this convo since ghost brought me here (kinda).
I think you are right. The people who are gifted at video games have some of the best hand-eye coordination, and will pick up on something extremely quickly and develop a wide variety of playstyles. I haven't been playing WoW more than 4 months (5?), and I'm already better than people who have been playing for years and have a much better understanding of the game then me.
Granted, its not a fps, but the amount of keybinds, timing, shift/alt modifications, that you have to execute at the right time takes a strong degree of coordination that some people just simply don't have.
not really on topic, but wtv. Love how the Caincer is still getting beat up by the Chemo that is BSN
