It will SUCK if they end up using one of the following tropes for the Warden.

* Dropped a Bridge on Him
* Bus Crash
* Chuck Cunningham Syndrome

I shudder to think about it.  For example, Morrigan returns from the eluvian, but the Warden doesn't, just because they're eager to sweep him under the rug.  :(

He or she got the calling early? :P

**** that! If he or she survived the Archdemon, then that would be an lame excuse. Also, it's possible that Morrigan found a way to cure the Warden.

Hmm i wonder whether cure was never found or someone managed discover cure but after grey wardens learned about that person well lets say that person had terrible accident.

You're not gonna make The Warden disappear if he or she survived that even, it cheap and a slap in the face to our choice. The Warden is an ultimate bad ass with dragon blood running through him/her, he/she can't be killed.

To be honest don't count on badass if bring him up see revan one of the biggest sith lords in star wars and he ended like punk in old republic that same for johnny klebitz in gta V.

And then Revan came back **** slapped Malak. Johnny, well he wasn't Niko or Luis so yeah...The Warden is on a whole nutha level!

Well you of course didn't played old republic only knights of the old republic old republic is third game mmo and there is revan after (watch on your responsibility).

I did and completed the JK story and I know he is supposedly dead but he disappears just like *SPOILER* the Emperor

By the time 9:40 dragon, both the warden and hawke have mysteriously vanished though when we lose track of them is another matter entirely depending on who you romanced and what your role was.

If you romanced Morrigan and went through the Eluvian the last know record of you was in 9:32 dragon wot pg 152.

In act 3 year 7 if Alistair is king and you are Queen or mistress he or tegan says you are waiting for his return 9:37 dragon, so sometime after that probably in 9:38 dragon is when Alistair goes on his journey

Not sure about Lelianas one, don't remember if she said that the warden was around or not

Anora don't know

Zevaran don't know

Gaider did say every warden has vanished and the 9:40 dragon part was confirmed by the game and when they said the integration took place

Leliana said the Warden was dear to her heart but that's all so he must not disappear till the end of act 3

It's a "no matter what we do with them in the story as NPC's". They've already "disappeared", so you already have some going "but my X wouldn't have disappeared! They went off to do Y!" Says who? "Says me!" Well, too bad. As of the end of the game, you are no longer playing that character.

"But I don't like that!  You should leave that character alone forever, and never bring up any other character as a cameo unless it's vitally important ot the story (and I approve of their usage)!"

Again: too bad, sorry. We'll do our best to respect the choices that were made, but take no responsibility for headcanon with regards to what you believe those choices led to after the end of the game in which those characters appeared.

David Gaider

As for why "they disappeared" came into play, I don't really know for sure (especially for the Warden). Hawke's is much more of a "we wanted to expand on it in the expansion pack" pooch screw since, well, it was canceled and now we need to roll with that.

Which IS a valid criticism.

I never liked the "Let's get a new protagonist for every sequel" thing.  That's one thing Mass Effect got right, although I care about my Wardens way more than I did about Shepard.

I agree, Mass Effect did it right by keeping Shepard for all games. I would have liked to have kept the Warden for DA 2 as well. Just have him come to Kirkwall on that mysterious Grey Warden business and have to fix the place while staying there...or let us focus on that Grey Warden business. DA:I could also have the warden as the PC, why not have the Warden commander and the hero who stopped the Blight to fix a hole in the sky? Afterwards, he could sadly go have his calling. Would have been a great journey for the character.

What you call gross Butterfly, I call practical. lol!

@Angry, actually, I think that back then fertility and heirs were a huge deal. Especially to nobles. Very very few men would be willingly to walk into a marriage with a woman who could not reproduce. Even Alistair has his reservations about marrying Queen Warden for this very thing.

Since Anora gets so readily accepted as Queen in her own right, despite having 100% peasant ancestry, clearly DNA isn't an absolute requirment.

There is nothing in my post that says that DNA matters. Obviously if the Queen Warden is going to sleep with another man to produce an heir it certainly won't be Alistair's biological child.

As for Anora. She was worried about people raising an army in Alistair's name. A legit fear and shows a possibility that she would not be accepted at the drop of a hat. The Warden's choice is the only reason she sits on the throne. Alistair at least had the backing of Arl Eamon and it had a lot to do with his royal blood.
