But you might want to try searching for games without any consumables equipped. You always run the risk of landing into a camping game or a missile glitching game, or a game with useless pugs, or a game on wave 10 or 11, or a really laggy game, and so on.

You might also land in wave 1 or 2 of a game that makes you wish you had maxed the consumables.
This has happened to me many times so I reverted to equipping consumables beforehand.
I find if I leave in progress games quickly without dying or firing weapons no pre equipped consumables are lost.

Yes, the game needs a proper lobby browser so you can see what you're getting yourself into.

yeah you should be able to select wether you want to jump into a game in progress, view the game's player loadouts before joining or join a pre-game lobby.

Nope. It is not called quick search. Quick search is called quick match or something else in other games where you just go in when you don't want to bother looking where you are going. A proper matchmaking system in other multiplayer games is where you can browse through available games, see the ping, the type of games they are playing etc. and then make a decision to join or not. I hope this increases your literacy level in gaming a bit. And like I said, while nothing can be done about ME3, a proper match browser should be incorporated in next ME game.Tokenusername wrote...

Yes, that is an option. But not really a good option. Why? Because I might get into a game I would like to play and not leave. While equipment isn't necessary, it certainly makes the game shorter and more enjoyable. Also, I do that at times in ME3 when I am running on a bad streak of getting dropped into Rio/White games. It is a gamble I have to take in ME3, since nothing will be done about it. But that doesn't mean that a proper lobby browser shouldn't be a part of the next game. I would very much like if Bryan could comment in this thread.warriorsea wrote...
It is simple. Don't put any equipment on while searching a lobby.

I'd like a specific indicator that I could turn on to let people know anyone from my FL is welcome to join my lobby. The current arrow only lets people know I have free spots in my lobby, so I'll sometimes have ninja joiners that I then have to ask to leave because I've promised that spot to someone else. On the other hand, sometimes I want friends to play with and it's a pain to individually invite, wait for a response, etc. A "join me/don't join me" toggle would be helpful.
There is a feature like that on Xbox, so it is definitely something we considered. Cant recall why it wasnt propogated to PC. But the options were:
Public (anyone can join)
Private (You have to be invited)
Friends only (Friends could join you freely)
As for the original purpose of the thread, as mentioned in PM, this is out of my realm

Yeah, it'd be nice but just stop equipping good consumables while using quick match...

That would have been great. I hope something like that makes it into the next ME MP. Now that you mention it I remember Stardusk's rage thread where someone had ninja-joined his plat solo and he unfriended and blocked them. All the XBox players kept posting "why didn't you set it to Private, idiot?" not realizing that PC players' "Private" setting is the same as "friends only."
Maybe Bioware wanted to give console players something they could rub in PC players' faces for a change.

When you receive a notification on xbox telling you that a "[Friend] wants friends to play Mass Effect 3", is that just an automatically generated generic notification or does that person really want people to join him? Does this notification have to be manually activated?
It's an xbox live thing, the beacon, you can set a message that will notify anybody playing the same game that you set it to that you want to play with them,
They get annoying when people don't turn them off (it's manual you see), and later they are doing something else but the notifications keep popping up automatically, One person on my friends list has such a beacon in place even though they haven't played ME3 in over half a year, still if they are online the beacon tells me they want to play ME3

Ouch. Something passive would be better. Like a little green dot istead of an arrow next to my name on the Origin FL.

the game doesn't let you keep your consumables even if you leave the game immediately without taking any other action
Yes it does - not equipped, but they'll be back in your inventory
