Ok so if I have a Shepard who I played through once.  Then started a new game + and played through again.  Will there be two end game saves or will it count it as one?  I ask since even though I am like 90% through my second playthrough I can start up a new, new game + with same character/

I'm fairly sure that each time you complete the game a separate transfer save is created. So yes, your new game + will be its own save transfer.

Javier/dev confirmation/refuting to follow.

Each time you complete the game with a NG+ character it creates a new save file. You can see this if you pop in your ME1 disc, and then go to new game, then select existing character or something like that, and it should show you all the different characters you have. Those are the ones that will import.

That said, be careful. When you import, you'll only see the major decisions and attributes. That's a problem for me, because I made the same major decisions pretty much every time. Only "minor" decisions ever really changed. I guess the best thing you can do in that case is to pay attention to the times and play lengths of each save.

Here's the IGN import video: http://media.xbox360...013/vids_1.html

Each end game gets its' own save. It comes up as an ME1 Import on the main screen of ME2. It outlines your: level, class, which moral path you chose paragon/renegade or both, whether wrex lived or died, whether the council lived or died and whether Ashley or Kaiden died on Virmire.
