But would that be true of ME3? The urban legend is that male gamers pretend to be female gamers in order to get gear and upgrades out of gullible male gamers. However, there’s no exchange of gear system in place for ME3. So why do it?

Actually you might be touching on a slightly different topic where you are being deliberately misled by other gamers. Which is awful in my view, but then again there was the thread about the male gamer who got mistaken as a female gamer and didn’t want to upset his new friends.  So maybe it’s not so clear cut.

The poster you are addressing is well-known for liking to rustle people's jimmies, so I would take his "contributions" to this thread with a grain of salt.

Just as an FYI.

Also, his N7 Power Level is over 56,000. Can't let that go without a mention in every possible thread ever.

Thanks for the FYI Dragon Racer. I have spotted them doing that in several other threads about the N7 rating. It reminded me of “The Big Bang Theory” episode where the character Howard Wolowitz keeps reminding everyone whenever he can about when he went into space. Of course everyone gets sick to death of it and so now he only mentions it occasionally. Note that I’m not trying to equate a high N7 as being like an astronaut. ^_^

The thread doesn't have to be even remotely related to N7 for lolkook to mention it in a sad attempt to legitimize his posts.

My favorite question was "Are you a girl or a prepubescent boy?"

The answer should always be, "Which would you prefer?"

Or, "Send me your credit card number, and I'll be whatever you need."

Really though, girls should stop playing ME3 because THEY ALL KEEP STEALING MY KILLS!

No, this has never happened, and if it did, it'd make no sense.
Female characters in this game, apart from the humans, have totally different powers when compared to the males.
I can see someone thinking you're the opposite gender in say, an MMO, but in a game like this I don't see why they would.

Also, I think a guy should be able to play female characters if he chooses, as he's doing no harm.
If he is using it to deceive people though, then that's taking it a bit too far.

I have a lot to say on this matter, but it's going to be tough to say what I want to say without offending people. The point I was trying to make is that you shouldn't really believe what people tell you about their gender. It's fine to play with people, it's okay to have a few friends that you play with. Just remember that 'girl' doesn't indicate gender, it's merely an acronym.

Some people are into gaming for the wrong reasons. For me, gaming is a hobby, it's not a medium for social interaction. Other people like to be admired, they like to socialise, they like to be part of a group. One way to achieve these things is to tell people that you are female and cash in on the profits.

I wasn't afraid to post a photo of myself on this forum. However, the vast majority of 'female' gamers on here have completely avoided doing that, which has made me highly suspicious. So far, only two females have come forward. Then someone directed my attention to the fact that girl = guy in real life. All this has opened my eyes to dark side of Mass Effect.

What's interesting now is that there enough other people bringing up your N7 score that you're derailing threads in which you haven't even posted.

Act more on BSN like you do in the game.  Some people just aren't getting the joke, and sometimes your delivery of the joke is sub-optimal.

I think there is, by creating another thread. Ignoring the N7 rating comments, you touching on a different debate about being misled by other gamers which can be in the form of pretending to be another gender.

Not quite sure how that thread would be ME3 multiplayer related though. There’s arguably a debate that people would be less willing to do so in ME3 because of it’s nature i.e. a co-op game (different mentality) and less reward for deceiving others.

Am I wrong? It's a repeated behavior pattern from you and if you really can't see it and how much it makes people greatly dislike you, well, then, I just don't know.

Why? The statement is incredibly accurate and people that don't post often aren't aware of your tomfoolery.

Oh, indeed. The over-the-top egotism (whether real or an act) is bad enough, but I have a long memory. I did not forget the XBox messages he sent you.

But I will cease with anymore talk about him. I actually didn't mean to derail the OP's thread, so it was wrong of me to pull in that side battle. I largely felt the OP was biting a trolling hook and wanted to give due warning.

Carry on.
