"Can you tell me another story about The Shepard?"
"Okay... Just one more..."
So.. the gate is still open, and yes, we can have another story about and with Shepard and his squad (And i hope that). The potencial of this characters is so massive, pls biowere, don´t leave one on the most iconic characters in the scy-fi universe (Like Master Chief, luke or any others).

I agree with you
The mass effect fans have grown to like the characters, you cant just kill them off like this without their plot even being resolved and then expect the fans to care about the new random characters. I think that ending quote just shows that even Bioware doesn't think that Shepard's Storyline is resolved, imagine Halo 4 without Master Chief how would that work ? Now imagine Mass Effect 4 without Shepard, I don't see why Bioware wants to get rid of the best thing about Mass Effect, the characters people have grown to like

I personally would like a game with Shepard and his squad as I feel his story is not yet resolved

Then again, I'm one of those guys that thinks that it's not the setting or the story that makes the universe, it's the characters and my avatar in it.
That's why I'm so connected to my Shepard. Without him or the characters I care about, I have nothing to give me any interest. I don't care about new characters, because I don't believe they could stack up to the old ones. And despite what I said about the story, I liked the power fantasy of rolling as Shepard. There's no way BW will pull that again for a variety of reasons.
And I guess part of my feelings comes from the way ME3 ended. Without going into other reasons, I feel that this wasn't a proper conclusion for Shepard and for the story and setting it took place in. It was sudden, it was forced, and it felt like a bridge was dropped on the game to make it finish. I don't feel as though there was a proper conclusion to the game concerning a lot of things involving the characters. I'd be a bit more receptive to a new story from a new perspective if the previous one didn't feel so abrupt when it stopped.

It doesn't matter how much you want him/her back, as long as they are using an engine that is not the one they used for the first three games, it will never happen. Period.

Good thing I play as Sheploo then.

Well, I admit that it's hard to imagine a game in the mass effect universe without Shepard and friends. I really grew attached to my Shepard (at least in ME3...ME2 Shepard was an emotional brick with a gun) and the crew...but I guess their story is done. They deserve a rest (and a lot of little blue children). But who knows, maybe they'll bring Shep back if ME4 flops
If you want more Shepard don't buy Mass Effect 4
