Commander Shepard awesome story had been told.
We need new main character, maybe even different playable races so it comes to player to decided which race he wants to play as main protagonist.
New story, new places, new mysteries, new races, new weapons, new developments.
Definitely in future, maybe 200 - 300 years from ME3 happenings, when all relays are fixed & working again.
Also exploration of uncharted space & relays would be much appreciated.

I wonder how that would work though. I don't play all the way through to the end (don't like any of the ending choices, and the only one I find tolerable is unavailable to me because of the EMS issue) so I wouldn't have an endgame save to import. Actually, I don't even know if there is a save after the final choice. ME1 didn't have one, and that imported fine.

I'll admit I supported the idea of keeping Shepard and crew at first but when Bioware said they were finished with Shepard, I changed my endings to give Shepard in game closure, not just closure in my mind, also I really like the colour green.
Besides I've already got my next characters planned out, appearances and names, even for multiple species should Bioware go down that route, would be a shame if my brain power went to waste.

It's impossible to gain enough EMS for the ending I'm talking about without multiplayer or a downloadable patch, and I don't use an internet connection with my consoles, so neither of those are options for me. The requirement is 4,000 EMS and mine will always be a few hundred short. The war assets in the base game can't add up to that.AlanC9 wrote...

You know, then there's the problem of replacing Robin Sachs. I've made peace with the fact that her story is done. This is it. She's going to retire after that. It's over. I don't even bother with the ending anymore. What's the point? It sucks.

That must stink.
I happened to have started around June/July, so all DLC and Extended Cut options were available by that point. And I still don't enjoy it much (rather, I care about ME3 only because of ME1/2).

Extended Cut is the only one I actually watched on youtube. The others I just read about. It just becomes frustrating when I know there's little chance they'll ever be released on-disc.

Of course, but like they said a dozen times, "Shepard's story is done." Though not to speak poor of Bioware, but if both DA:I and the next ME flop, who's knows what could happen. Bioware knows people love both Shepard and friends, anything could happen.
All I know is these next two games will either make or break Bioware.
They brought Chief back for Halo 4 or 5 or whatever number it was. Shepard's return could always happen.

Oh, right. I keep forgetting that some folks can't patch.
What's the problem with connecting consoles? I've never owned one.

Becuase a more outlandish protagonist is more likely to rub more players the wrong way. The personality and voice acting has to appeal to as wide a range of people as possible. If you were able to pick from several protagonists they could afford to be a bit more creative.
