Is Tevinter Connected to the Venatori?

The standards which you can see at the top of the screen at 22:13 is that of a dragon/serpent, similar to what is used in World of Thedas to symbolize Tevinter. In addition, Venatori sounds like it can come from the same language as Liberati. I haven't exactly studied foreign languages, but the words do seem to follow similar phonetic principles.
Thoughts?

Hopefully that means we'll be getting to see a lot more of Tevinter!

Venatori is just Latin for hunters iirc while liberati means "freedmen". Given that the Tevinter Imperium is basically the remnants of the Roman Empire (or at least a fantasy analogue of that) it doesn't surprise me, especially given that they seem to be wearing Tevinter's symbol. Obv gladiators weren't used during the Byzantine period, but it's too cool to leave out.
Hopefully that means we'll be getting to see a lot more of Tevinter!
Gaider likened them to the Byzantine Empire, although that is technically "the remnants of the Roman Empire".

Regarding the naming:
For the Venatori - In my language "hunter" is spelled as "vânător" ( the "â" is pronounce "ha" but with a quik and subtle "h" and the "ă" is like that sound you do when you don't know the answer to a question and you go like "aaaaaa", only that it's short ) and "hunters" is spelled "vânători".
As for the Liberati - in my language "free" is spelled as " liber " ( the masculin, singular form ) and "freed"is spelled as "eliberat " ( when refering to a single male) and "eliberați" ( the "ț" is pronounce as "tz" - when refering to a a group of two or more males or a gender mixed group of two or more individuals )
It's a latin language so I guess there is a connection.
My best guess is that they are a group of dragon hunters that worship the dragons or something like that. It would be a nice change from the reavers in DA:O.
Also, am I the only one who thinks that their armor looks similar to the ones worn by the guards of Aurelian Titus ? Like the one Varric kills when he sneaks in his fortress ?

I think those are more like employed grunts. They were humans and we know that in Tevinter most of the slave population is elvish. Still, it's possible what you said, but the way Varric told the story gave me the feeling that the guy is working for Titus because he wants to / gets paid by Titus.

There is a concept art showing similar outfited dude in World of Thedas (in the Tevinter secton). I think that the comic was drawn based on DAI concept arts (look at Varric, he looks similar to the E3 trailer Varric). I wouldn't look too much into them looking similar to some guard working for Aurelian Titus.

I had hoped that as well, but it appears the whole game will play out between Orlais and Ferelden. Disappointing. The Xand wrote...

The venatori are supposedly an Anti-magic cult, and seeing their patchwork (gladiatorial) armour, I'm thinking escaped tevinter slaves and other people who hate/are afraid of magic
What about the venatori mage that they fought in the demo ?

Indeed. They called him a Tevinter Enchanter in the voice-over. They seemed to imply he was in some position of power.

I actually think the Inquisitor is going everywhere except Par Vollen, or however it's spelled.

That's my guess. Venatori are the "bad mages" in contrast to the "good mages" we could ally ourselves with and the Red Templars are the "bad templars" as opposed to the "good templars". Think of how Mass Effect 3 had very well defined, specific enemy groups: Ceberus, Geth, Reapers, Collectors. I imagine it'll be like that: Venatori, Red Templars, Demons and maybe some other groups.almostinsane99 wrote...
Hmm... That does sound promising. I wonder what role the Venatori are playing? Perhaps as a mirror to the Red Templars?

They say "He will reign" hinting at Sandals prophecy about magic returning and the veil tear which we know was caused by the main antagonist in DAI, also they are formed in direct opposition to us.whichis what they said about the main antagonist to, so it's highly likely they serve under the antagonist.
It is definitely possible we will be going to Tevinter based on things they said and that we will be going to nations and that we are tghe deciding factor in nations fates.

I'm surely not the only one that thinks of the Clone War era Star Destroyers whenever anyone says Venator am I? Loved those ships.
