William Boyd's latest novel, Solo, was billed as the "spiritual successor" to Ian Flemming's James Bond series of novels. It was atrocious, appalling, abysmal, I could go on but you probably get the point. James Bond has gone from someone who drinks a bit to a full fledged alcoholic. There's thinly veiled racism (from a writing standpoint, not story), an alarmingly cynical attempt to demonize America, non-sensical plot "twists", etc. all leading up to a stupid endgame goal.

Hopefully this gets scrubbed from existence somehow... Anyone else read this?

Just summing up a part of the book's main plot. No exaggeration or anything like that.

James Bond jumped the shark years ago, I hadn't known about the novels but I'm mostly apathetic. Least this makes more sense than invisible cars.

Women of daring and courage are being smuggled to America inside African orphans?

Sounds like an intriguing plot, worthy of Ian Flemings best.  Tell us more.

Came in hoping that the thread title hinted to a video. Left disappointed.

Seriously though, huh?

This does sound like quite the interesting tale. Definately a clever twist on the usual tale of women carrying children inside of them.

Didn't even realize I'd spelled it wrong. Didn't know a word of Enlish three years ago, blah blah blah. Apologies.
