For the character creator, this would be great.
Although if they made it possible to be a broodmother through the character creator, I'd be fine with that as well.
I can just imagine the possibilities of having a Broodmother Inquisitor. GLORIOUS.
Careful. Your Cailan is showing.
Can we make black characters with black features?

Like how hair grows on black people? Personally, I feel insulted by the insinuation that we all have short hair! Who can I sue?

I agree totally the beliefs that some people hold is just astounding. I wouldn't mind if some of the most prominent people in recent history didn't have long hair. That's why I posted the picture of Bob Marley. I mean the First Lady has shoulder length hair you can't get much more prominent than that.

It's easy to do while keeping it reasonable.
i.e
Codex: The Aghabharii originate from the searing deserts in Orlais. Life is not easy for them and so they have never thrived. They are a strong people and ingenious. In order to survive in the blasted wasted they have carved caverns under the sands which transport their water and so make for themselves habitable oasis.
They occasionally trade with the Orleisians for commodities they do not posses themselves such as wool and grains. Due to their hardy nomadic nature the Aghabharii are often hired as mercenaries when war wages.
Seems simple enough to do?

If a game isn't released on PC, it might as well never have existed as far as I'm concerned.

Lastly extremely short curley coarse hair.
If you knew what I was trying to describe you'd know that, that kind of hair is exlcusive to people of African descent.

I wouldn't care, but it doesn't matter to me. At all. I have no interest in recreating my high cheekbones or my coarse hair.
I'm black and yet don't make that a priority in my games. I'll admit my favorite Shepards are both black in appearance though the female one has green eyes in my favorite playthru with her. Neither was my first go to shepard as I recall, my first male Shep was white, and female shep was white as well (neither were defaults, so I actively chose to make them look that way.) In Dragon Age the same deal, I have no "black" looking protagonist, and it wasn't until DA2 that I made one, but didn't like the way the rest of the family looked because of it, and subsequently quit the playthru.
just for reference

I stopped using Frags and started trying to use the end game Screen Shot savers for I think for ME3 but for some reason they either don't work or got damaged so no can show, which is especially bad because thats when my male shep looked his best, unfortunately Femsheps in ME3 look terrible no matter what you do, I think BioWare did that to make Default FemShep not memorible or beautiful.

Vivienne looks pretty black. That seems promising.
I would say no on the African accents and the like, tho, since there is no Africa analogue in Thedas.
Well, I wouldn't say no to them giving Rivainis a more distinctive accent, cause at the moment they're essentially Fereldans. Maybe Zimbabwean or something.
Though I have no idea how many actors they'd be able to get out of that, seeing as they only seemed to be able to find 2 French ones. :S
Afrikaner accent oh yess.

If you're just talking about how hair gets curly, I don't see how a black persons hair would never be able to become long on its own. Or are you telling me afros are the natural state of all black people's hair?
They really aren't. My kid brother has been growing his hair for thirteen straight years with no tampering. His hair isn't totally straight, none of my family's hair is straight, but it's past his buttocks when it hasn't been tampered with. When it gets washed it's a bit longer...and he's as black as can be.
What part of isn't 100% inclusive don't people understand? Also you give no background on the lineage of this child/person, but only say "hair isn't totally straight, no ones in my family is." genetics change based on lineage all the time social labelling often does not. if your great grand dad was Asian, but his descendants all married and had kids with Africans, are they still Asian? The genetics for asian traits is still there and likely to show up at one point or another does that however change the fact that they may appear African? This is why the subject is largely left alone, people try to nail down what is and isn't and then someone comes along and says, "Well that isn't true about my blah blah blah." as if their's is the only right version... There isn't a right or wrong there is only a generalization, your cousins, brothers, nephews, sisters aunt, great grandma and everything inbetween can be an exception, but never the standard.

It's rough around the edges, and could use some more work in certain places but overall I consider it a success. There's something about climbing up a Cyclops and stabbing it in the eye that proves immensely satisfying.
Now, although this thread mentions black people specifically I would really want to be able to create people from a wide range of ethnicities. I think if you had the presets show a number if different ethnicities people could use that to create their own Inquisitor. So we could cover Africans, Asians, Native Americans, Hispanics, etc.

I'm hoping that they will have a African analogy soon like the Elder Scolls has with the Redguards, that's the way to go to expand the universe and the audience. Maybe a boat comes in with foreign humans with a foreign culture who have African features and skin color. That creates conflict with the Thedan people. The Xand wrote...

I'd favor it if there were african analogues in the game's world, but so far there do not seem to be. I don't favor smashing the lore just to appeal to some players.
I'm with this. I just think it would be weird seeing Chinese or African looking people in the current world of Thedas because there aren't any analogous cultures (yet). Maybe once they've introduced a more African or Oriental themed race of humans from more distant lands.
That said I'm pretty sure the character creator was comprehensive enough to create a realistic looking African. You could create characters as monstrous or as handsome as you liked so an African isn't beyond the realm of possibility.
