No, you're still wrong. 'Black' Indians are partially Australoid and 'black' Moors were partially sub-Saharan African.
Out of curiosity though, why shouldn't the 'ebony' Riviani look like sub-Saharan Africans? Why should the 'ebony' Rivaini look more Indian than African? Why is one more preferable than the other?
Except I'm not wrong and there are very different types of "black" people, beyond the single stereotypical type you seem to think should be in everything. One is preferable because it's more authentic. The Moors didn't look like sub-saharan Africans, they were dark skinned Caucasoids and if Rivain is modelled after Medieval Spain that should reflect that fact. You wouldn't expect a country modelled after Spain to be predominantly filled with lily-white blue-eyed blondes and redheads after all.
I never once claimed that African peoples are the only ones with dark skin tones. I did say that without being of mixed ancestry, Caucasian peoples are not 'ebony' or 'black.' And that is fact.
Some Berbers (the people the Europeans originally called Moors) are partially sub-Saharan African.
So you're still wrong.
And at any rate, Rivain isn't Almohad Spain. It doesn't have to be an exact copy. If the devs want to make the Rivaini entirely a mix between the Thedas equivalent of tan Europeans and sub-Saharan Africans, they can. In no way whatsoever would that be lore-breaking.
Except that I'm right, because the very existence of Indians proves that Caucasoids do indeed come in dark skinned varieties without needing any sort of negroid influence.
The dark complexion of some Indians proves no such thing, because Indians are racially diverse. They do not have solely Caucasoid origins, but are also descended from Australoids and Mongoloids. India is and for millennia has been a melting pot. Black skin is an Australoid feature.
You're right, it is up to the devs, but to avoid racial stereotyping it would be in their best interests to at least show they care about the differences of various "black" peoples rather than just throwing in stereotypical sub-saharan Africans. They could always introduce a more genuinely African themed people at a later date.
I personally don't care whether or not the black Rivaini are analogues of an African, or an Australian aboriginal, or a Dravidian, or a person from New Guinea. I'm just curious why it is a big deal to you that they not be based on Africans. You've still yet to explain why one group of black people is preferable to another.
