Pre-Order Armor Question

Now I cant remember the EXACT quote the man said but, from what I gathered, it sounds like our "Armor" for pre-ordering may not be what it's cracked up to be. It sounded to me like they arent going to put the armor in your inventory but instead, put the "schematics" for it in your inventory to give to your "science officer" for making it and then you have to go out and "harvest" the materials for it. I honestly hope this isnt the case else pre-ordering was a complete and utter waste of time. Why would I download an item that Im supposed to recieve in game if Im not going to be able to use it until probably around the end of the game (or half way as it was with Dragon Age). Had I known that about the Dragon Armor in Dragon Age I probably would have saved the 3mb of space on my MU instead of downloading it. In hindsight, I havent deleted it off my MU simply due to the fact that you can take advantage of a level glitch in the beginning of the game to get to 25.
But seriously, it got me thinking when I saw this. "What catch is there going to be to this armor when we get it?" And then seeing this on X-play made me think about said scenario above. So, unless someone can confirm otherwise (i.e. some knowledgable ME brother/sister ) or a Dev can confirm otherwise, I am going to continue to be paranoid that this is going to be the case and be extremely disappointed when I get my pre-ordered copy. Please, PLEASE tell me this is NOT going to be the case.

Fact is we don't know, no dev has stated where you get the pre order armor, although the scenario mentioned in the op is most likely. But honestly, did you expect to get a full set of armor willy nilly just as soon as the game kicks off? To me working just a little but to get the bonus armors is much better than just having it handed to you.
While true, I can understand the sentiment, but when I pre-ordering something and have it promised to me, I expect to be able to have it handed to me right then and there when I get into the game. If I am going to go through the extra "effort" (albiet minimum as it may be) to pre-order a game with something like this in it, I expect to have instant gratification. Sorry, but that's just the kind of person I am. Marketing methods like this remind me of my mother-in-law: she might buy you a ton of stuff at X-mas, but there is ALWAYS a string attached, some sort of "catch" involved. To which, if this is in fact the case, I may be saving space on my MU this time around and just not DL'ing the armor. As I stated before, the only reason I havent deleted it from my DA:O profile is because after my first time through the game, I began using the xp glitch to get around the the strength requirement of the armor.

Fair enough, but as I said we don't know how they are giving us the dlc armor in-game. I agree with you that it would be nice to not have any strings attached and just get the armor however, at the same time I don't, mind doing a little exploring for it. Hopefully a dev could clear this up before release.
I agree, at this point it's all speculation and/or hyperbole. Guess I wont freak out too much about it until I find out in game. Guess I can always delete it off my MU if it is the case.

The bonus armor is basically bonus content. What does it matter if you get it immediately or not. It's something special that other people will not have if they haven't bought it.
You'll probably enjoy the extra mission it will take to actually make the armor, so you'll feel like you actually earned it.
I personally despised the fact that you got pre-order/deluxe items immediately in Dragon Age. It just doesn't make any sense. I just suddenly wake up with a whole bunch of elite gear? Just like that?
In my opinion all pre-order/deluxe items should be in the form of small mini-missions where you actually go and acquire the item.
I don't want my gaming experience completely changed and possibly not for the best, by getting some weird gear in the beginning of the game that has no reason to be there. All because companies are practically expected to offer pre-order items/ deluxe edition items.

Oh GOD.....they're asking you to actually PLAY the game in order to get some awesome armor instead of having you start out invincible....how DARE they?!?! This is a complete and utter outrage!! I don't buy games to play them I buy games to use as paperweights I cannot believe the nerve they have expecting someone to actually play the game.
While I respect your opinion on the subject, unless you are actually going to add something "Contructive" to the conversation, perhaps you should just vacate the thread and troll somewhere else yes? Because yeaaaa, that'd be greaaaaat.

There's nothing constructive to say about whining that you have to play the game instead of just being handed things on a silver platter.
And yet, you believe your point to be valid...My my, such a hypocrite.

To get blood dragon armor
for ME2
1) Start ME2 and log into your EA account
2) Once download is complete, the Blood Dragon Armor will be in your inventory.
off course it can change and for all I know come launch day I might have to sell my kidney for it to show up

Here's the facts.....if you are handed things right from the start then the items will likely be worthless beyond looks. If on the other hand(like in DAO) they give you truly awesome high level armor and items then expect to have to work for it. The game is still meant to be fun to play so removing the challenge from it would be simply bad design choice. I am glad BioWare takes the time to give us truly worthwhile items that we can wear at high levels....obviously they can't just give you those items or have you be capable of wearing them at level 0 if they are even half decent stuff.
Suck it up and play the game.
I wasnt saying I wasnt going to play the game...I merely said that if this were the case that I was going to be saving space on my MU other more important things and wouldnt have gone out of my way to pre-order. Again, while it is your OPINION and Im sure you value it very highly, dont mistake your OPINION as fact or a Universal truth. Some people expect to be compensated for their "time" (albiet minute as it is to pre-order) while others believe they should have to struggle for everything they get. (like yourself apparently).
To put things into perspective for you, and to assure you that I am indeed capable of "working" for things. Just for sh**s and giggles I recently played through ME1 again on Insanity with only my starting N7 Armor. How is this possible you ask? Very simple, I kept the junk armor around in anticipation of doing this (because I had to start 2 new characters because I did a data cache dump and apparently that was a bad idea.) and decided it would be fun if I could get through insanity level with my capped out character with only an Onyx I armor lol. Was hell in some cases but I did manage it.
Case in point is this: Just because I expect to be immediately compensated for my "time" doesnt make me any more or any less of a person/player/whatever than you. You have your opinion, and I have mine. In the end, opinions are alot like ****holes: We all have them, and they all stink. While my opinion may stink to you, I can assure you, that yours stinks just as bad.

From what i saw those Pre order weapons are rather advanced piece of equipment, especially the Blackstorm gun. I can only think "overpowered" if this one would be available from the start.

I would be happy if the armor/weapons are not accessible from the very start. If you want it from the start, there are possible solutions through the console.

First of all, I have no console commands I play on the Xbox version lol...I could never afford a PC awesome enough to run ME in all of its awesomeness
Secondly, The weapon I agree with. If I had to "work" for the weapon, I wouldnt mind because it does seem massively OP. But the armors? Come on, they are FAAAAR from godly so why should I have to "work" for them?

Except yours stinks worse than most....."hand me everything, I can't take a challenge until I get to max level" you say. I say....deal with it. The purpose of not instantly handing you the items is relatively obvious....to maintain balance and still have great stuff fr you to have later on when the difficulty is on par with the advantages given by that gear. You don't like it? Go cry elsewhere, nobody really cares....well OK maybe your parents do but they're not around here.
As soon as I can find the /ignore option...I am most certainly placing you on it...All you want to do obviously is Troll...soooo Good-bye

Stop teaching him how to cheat....he'll never learn to handle a game in his life and he'll keep making threads about how his hand isn't being held.

Well, i can see your point but look at it this way, threat the pre-order bonus at what it is, a bonus. I ordered my CE from ebgames/gamestop, which means i get 2 armors and 2 weapons as a gift. While i certainly will only use the Terminus armor (the most awsome armor ingame, yay
I don't know your motivations for pre-ordering something but let me ask you, did you do it only for the Items?

Not really no...I anticipated this being a pretty popular item at Gamestop so I wanted to make sure to get my copy before they sold out heh. It's not as big a deal as darth is making it out to be. If this is how it is to be than as I said I will play the game as per normal w/o my items. In a way, Im kind of hoping they DO make it a schematic now so that I dont have to waste the space on my MU lol. But again, I was looking forward to my Blood Dragon Armor.
Again, in the end it's all speculation. No one knows for certain how this is going to go until we play ourselves. What I'll probably do is: Download the items...and if I get my armor but not my weapon then sure, no problem, I'll just go in later and probably delete the weapon off the profile. If it's the same with all the items then that's more free data space for me

Exactly....a bit of reason around here. The preoder bonuses are awesome and have to be earned because if they didn't need to be earned they'd be worthless trash that wouldn't keep you alive past level 5. The option the OP wants is to have all the overpowered stuff from level 0 and have BioWare wreck the game's balance.

I would be allot more pissed if this armor would be useless after level 5.
