I'm extremely worried about this game

The thing that really hits home with me is the fact that the makko (or however you spell it) is gone. There is also a recent review (posted on these forums) by a german site stating that exploration as a whole has been 'dumbed down' significantly. Now, by no means was exploring the same layouts over and over again fun in me1, and that was certainely an issue that needed to be corrected, but I honestly dont think that stripping that part of the game away completely because you're too lazy to put in the time to do it right is the correct action here. I dont know if its just them being lazy or an unforseen new ally to bioware thats now putting more pressure on releasing half finished games, but this is not the direction the series needs to be going and this is not bioware. It just seems funny that you had the time to work on 'free' DLC but not a working travel vehicle to let us explore and thats just it. Most of us WANT TO EXPLORE.
Bioware you said that you read fan feedback and obviously the elevator music has effectively been 'nerfed' (was op to begin with, trufax), but turning this series into a consoles gamer's 'LOLBASHHEADOFFCONTROLLER' chucky cheese attraction couldnt possibly be the way to move forward. You're trying to satisfy two genres that are completely different from one another and I honestly think that it will be the ultimate downfall to this series. Some of us dont like to constantly lolshootcrapforhoursonend just like some people dont like to explore and like to rush through story with the 'lolmashAbuttonskipdialoguecommand'.
With that said im HOPING that theres enough content here to satisfy the rpg player. Im hoping I dont beat this game in 9 hours and throw it out the window where it can sit in my front lawn with diddy kong racing. Honestly, I have so much more points to make but I doubt anyone really cares to hear them and frankly im sick of typing. Ill still probably buy the game on release day like ive been doing with every other release from bioware. Im going on the reputation and my experience in the past. I do think though that if bioware will ever let me down that this will be it.

It will be a cold day in hell before bioware turns its back on RPG gamers.
Even with EA involved.

Or take this guy's advice, minus the vulgarity.

And why would they experiment with an RPG/Shooter hybrid?
Because a guy like me wants the action and cinematics of a shooter, with the story, customization, and setup of an rpg. To be honest, I think a hybrid between the two is far and away better than the pure "rpg" or pure "shooter".
They essentially take the best parts of an RPG, and the best parts of a shooter, and toss it in a blender.

This may be the first game that Bioware releases that I will actually wait for a review on before going out to buy it. I played the original mass effect and I did enjoy it, but it had it's obvious flaws that I'm not sure were addressed. It just seems like this 'series' is Bioware's experiment into making first person shooters than anything else. Yes, the rpg elements are still there, but why would the best rpg developer on earth decide to introduce more action and shooting into what is by all means an rpg?

Bro, if you beat this first game in 9 hours then you OBVIOUSLY didnt do anywhere near all the content that was in the game. My first Shepard in the first game took me well over 40+ hours so even joking suggesting that you'd be able to finish the second game in 9 hours is not only foolish but also offensive in every sense of the word. Especially since the dev team has already stated in numerous accounts that ME2 is much bigger than the first game. Perhaps next time you should do some research before you go flying off of the handle or at least have a "genuine" concern rather than attempting to troll.

This is also proof that people always focus on the negatives over the positives. For instance, Xbox World 360 Magazine says for all the shooting, there is role playing and *lots* of it.
Now people are looking at this German review and somehow because of this review it's no longer an RPG because of their stupid percentages. No way was ME 1 30% shooting for instance so I'm hardly going to trust them for ME 2.

Every review so far has been 9/10 or 10/10, so if you're still worried I suggest a swift trip to the gas chamber.

Stop worrying and just play the game, then you can decide if you like it or not.

You haven't been paying much attention at all if you think there's nothing resembling the Mako in ME2 as well.

The first one was always billed as an action/shooter RPG, playing it for more than 10 minutes would have clued you in to that, so the second getting upgraded conversation controls, shooter mechanics and customization is hardly 'dumbing' the game down.
as for exploration yeah that would be nice, but even exploration in ME1 was somewhat tedious and as long as i can find unexplored planets land and explore on foot, while decreasing the space i can travel, i believe will still be worthwhile. I rather have 10 well fleshed out worlds with storylines to find than 30 generic worlds with a merc base and 2 nodes of resources with minimal story or background as to why i should even care that they're there.

With that said, I do ask that even though you may feel strongly about what I have written, that you atleast try to keep your comment civil for the sake of the board. Thank you.
