What are the four worst powers in this game?

+1 on the Hawk Missile Launcher. I just spec out of it, it just doesn't do it for me.

The worst, as in horribad powers? That's easy:

- Havoc Strike without the Dual Strike glitch: basically useless on Platinum. The dual strike glitch is necessary to make the most out of the Havoc.
- Dark Sphere: horrendous cooldowns upon detonation, slow casting and travel speed, hella glitched damage and either forced crappy radius or forced crappy damage. Only affects 3 targets.
- Biotic Orbs: it's basically a cooldown boost power, which is useless. Debuffs last for a very short time, the damage is pathetic, launching them is awfully slow, and the cooldown of the orbs themselves are even worse.
- Lash: you gotta max it out for it to become somewhat useable, and even then you can always use guns or other much better powers for the same ammount of fun and tons of damage.

People hating on Stickies and decoys/turrets are on drugs. Stickies do boatloads of damage, and distraction powers are lifesavers. As a Platinum soloer, the efficacy of these powers is obvious for me.

On the Drell Adept its easy. The Passive. I play the Adept for Biotics Explosions, so power damage doesnt matter.

So what do you think are worst powers, and why?

From my perspective they are not unusable, but could be replaced by anything except pull and improve the QFE, Saboturian, etc.


I put my nominations on p. 1 somewhere. I just did a Gold solo attempt with my QFE, turret specced for Shock/Cryo/Rockets. The crowd control was amazing. As I kited Banshees I kept seeing point values appear on the screen as my turret did a bunch of the work for me. And for SalEngy, using Decoy plus having a stagger weapon is a great way to trap enemies coming around a corner.

In the end this all is, of course, subjective. I've seen the footage of someone wiping the floor with Pull on Plat.

Btw, I automatically assume all these are personal preferences. So yeah, we will see powers we love quoted as "terrible". Don't you all be trippin'

25% damage boost, armor debuff, mook CC, stagger and a very fast cooldown.

Obviously one of the worst powers in the game.

i use it for movement like a biotic charge. it just takes to long for the animation

Stickes are great. 4-6K damage vs Armor is pretty brutal for something that doesn't even break Cloak. Use with Incendiary Ammo on high base damage weapon, throw 1-2 at an Armored target. Murders the hell out of Brutes, Scions and packs of Ravagers or Dragoons.

Sentry Turret is fantastic utility for scouting, CC, decoy and fire and forget damage.

Shadow Strike... I'll admit I don't have a lot of Shadow experience, but in the short time I've played it, SS really paid off in the sheer, brutal damage it does to Armor. With one SS and a Heavy melee, you get a dead Brute or Scion, and any time I saw a Banshee or Praetorian around 2/3 Armor, I hit SS and know I'm going to get that kill. And of course, oneshotting Phantoms and Dragoons with it is always fun.


For my own answers, I would say...

Pull - Only works on undefended enemies and has a travel time. It's like what Cryo Blast would be, if Cryo Blast didn't have those fantastic debuffs attached to it.

Lash - So it's like... a really really slow Pull, but it can be evolved to affect Shielded enemies at least. It's great for comedic value, but in terms of effectiveness it just really doesn't impress me at all. For shielded enemies I think it's more effective to just use some power to stagger them or in Phantom's case to force them into bubble stance, then shoot the crap out of them. Better than Lashing them off to God knows where, wasting a half second trying to find them again, then shooting them on the floor

Carnage - I have tried so many times to like this power, but I can't. The damage isn't anything amazing, the aoe is nonexistent, the recharge speed is freaking insane, and most importantly it's JUST. SO. GODDAMN. SLOOOOOOOOOOW.

Decoy - It's great vs Geth, and a bit useful against Cerberus. And uh... that's about it really. It's just too limited in use, it can't be placed at range, and it doesn't bring anything else to the table. There are other powers like Drone and Turret that can distract enemies and bring some CC, damage and scouting utility, and they can be used at long ranges.

Tactical Scan...I don't even bother speccing into it any more
Havoc Strike...Only useful for moving around quickly
Cryo Blast...because I can do that with Cryo Ammo
Concussive Arrows...because why, Bioware? I have AP arrows, I don't need anything else!
