Would you pay full price...no discounts/credit for having owned the original Mass Effect, if in 5 or 6 years, they came out with a totally new game to go along with a movie release?
Here are some thoughts I would like to ass on what I would love to see in a future game...one I would gladly pay full price for.
#1 An option for total victory. Only the Reapers are destroyed.
#2 PvP multiiplayer
#3 Multiplayer Campaign Option. Would love to play as other characters in the campaign, while another person plays Shepard.
#4 All current DLC becomes part of the new, main game.
#5 Prequels as DLC. (1st Contact War, Krogan vs Rachni, Anderson trying to become a Spectre, etc...)
#6 New DLC side quests...maybe even some based on what is in the new movie(s).
#7 Larger maps, and the ability to fly to different locations. Example...you actually pilot a "car" from one location on the Citadel to another to complete the quest...instead of simple loading screens. In short, bring some space sim qualities to the game. Allows us to immerse in the grand scale of things, such as cities, Citadel, planets, etc... Let me fly the shuttle to the planet...even if I can't fly to all locations on a planet...even if I'm somewhat artificially restrcited somehow, in where I can fly to. Maybe a timer that forces me to stay fairly close to the intended target as I fly to it. No time to fly off all over the planet. Maybe just a tiny amount of sight seeing on the way in or on the way out.
#8, I would like to fly all the way to landing, even on the Normandy, but I am OK with there being an option for a cut scene landing at the various locations, once the player selects it by pressing a specific key. Maybe these can even be selected as default by the player who has no desire to pilot the shuttles. In short allow the players to tailor the amount of realism they want.
#9 Bring back planet scanning but do it right. By that I mean, open up one of the work stations in the command and control area. An NPC mans that station, and you will be notified that he wants to speak with you. You approach and he informs you that scanning is complete for the specific planet which he states formally. You then look at the screen and tell him which deposist you want to mark. There can be several options such as telling him to go for highest cash payout, or to concentrate on the Eezo, or to collect all of a certain element you need for upgrades, etc... You only have a limited number of markers so you can't mark all deposits...ever. In short, this brings up a way to reincorporate the exploration aspect of ME2 without it being "painfully tedious." It now becomes just another RPG decision.
#9 Incorporate the hacking into all of the games. I rather enjoyed it. However, for those that don't, they can select an option in game that allows them to bypass this, but they can only attain 80% of the total payout. Enough to do most things, but not enough to buy every last upgrade. Or it can even be a selectable option on the fly that is not always used, but what hapens is you point to the device and order a squadmate to do it. They take 20 seconds and it's done.
#10 More freedom to move around the map, to allow more options in how you approach the target. In short, the battering ram approach through the front door, or sneaking into the back door, or either side door, etc... Each can have consequences. Maybe randomize the consequences. Like amybe two options for the frontal assault, and two options for sneaking in. Frontal and sneaking each would have consequnces specific to them, but which option within that choice is randomized. For instance, a weapon is available to be stolen in the sneaking in option, but only at one of the doors...which door do you choose? You can't go to the wiki page to find that out because it is randomly placed when the mission starts. This of course only for non-storyline critical objects. Also, this could be used for squadmates getting killed. Give a very low randomized option for either of the 4 to several routes resulting in the death of a squadmate, with it becoming less likely that this would happen after each squadmate dies. Can't have the entire cast being killed off.
#11 In light of the last suggestion in #10, allow for more squadmates that are promoted from multiplayer. In fact, make these the characters that are randomly killed during missions. When it does happen, you can call for reinforcements...normally...and or at specific locations. Maybe these are the characters you play in multiplayer campaigns. You use your list of promoted characters to play on these missions.
#12 more big fleet battles, and or an option to actually fight some in the big fleet battle at the end. I would love to fly a fighter, shooting those little drones. And maybe man a big cannon station on a capital ship. Make this part of getting to the surface. If you do well enough, you get a large group of ships/troops to the surface. Don't do so well, you don't get as many to the surface. In short, you have to punch a hole through to get to the surface.
#13 Allow Miranda to be a main crew member, especially if she is your romance option at the end of ME2, as was the case for me first time into ME3.
Side note on that is that I also seemed to have had Liara as an option because I allowed the romance at the end of the Shadow Broker...after completing the suicide mission. I was able to romance Miranda because I elected to tell Liara no, when she asked if we were still a couple. At elast I assume that is why I was allowed to have the rendezvous with Miranda. Still, she was my favorite female in the game, so I would have liked the ability to have her in more of the ME3 game.
That mission to help her could have been moved up to an early part of the game, or she could have run into you on the Citadel and you ask her to join you, and she accepts...maybe on condition that you help her.
Anyway, just some of my thoughts.
Would you...
