and others blame me3 (many) faults on me2.... the cycle continues
So, what do we blame when it comes to ME1's issues and contrivances?
KOTOR?

Because it's true? If ME2 did anything important instead of being the rule of cool and just dicking around in a shiny new ship then ME3 would not have tried to be two games in one along with having to continue that horrible suicide misison because someone thought that was a grand idea for the middle of a trilogy.FlamingBoy wrote...

I'll agree that the Suicide mission placement was bad though. I won't agree the suicide mission itself is bad. ME3 needed something like that.

The only truth that came from that absurd assertion was...
The cycle does indeed continue.

Though I'll admit to channeling Statler and Waldorf myself at times

It's bad for being in the wrong game and also being way to easy with handholding choices.StreetMagic wrote...

My only real problem was that I found the interrupt unclear, and had to do a hasty reload.

I thought the vorcha Councillor in the Blasto movie was a much better Councillor than any of the real ones too.

ME2 is quite something, it manages to be pointless to both the overarching plot and in the context of itself. It's quite honestly one of the worst plots in gaming as far as serious narrative driven games are concerned.

Rhetorics aside, the thing that has kept the Mass Effect trilogy afloat has been the self-awareness. Whenever Mass Effect forgets its a game, you get the things like the ending with labels of artistic integrity.

The Reapers are the worst thing about Mass Effect. They seemed cool at first, but they're just glorified party crashers. The minute something like the Reapers are allowed to be unleashed, they'll destroy the setting. But it's the setting that's the only thing worth caring about in the first place. The fun is in just being some badass spacecop, gallavanting around the universe, making friends, falling in love, cracking heads, righting random wrongs. Or whatever. Kick puppies if you want. Why the hell would you want the Reapers around?
