and others blame me3 (many) faults on me2.... the cycle continues :)

So, what do we blame when it comes to ME1's issues and contrivances?

KOTOR?

Nah. I'm pretty sure we blame ME3 again.... or is it ME2. **** I'm confused.

Because it's true? If ME2 did anything important instead of being the rule of cool and just dicking around in a shiny new ship then ME3 would not have tried to be two games in one along with having to continue that horrible suicide misison because someone thought that was a grand idea for the middle of a trilogy.

ME2 is quite something, it manages to be pointless to both the overarching plot and in the context of itself. It's quite honestly one of the worst plots in gaming as far as serious narrative driven games are concerned.

Seboist and Mr. House remind me of those old dudes in the balcony, from the Muppets. I can always depend on seeing both of them together in this type of conversation.

I'll agree that the Suicide mission placement was bad though. I won't agree the suicide mission itself is bad. ME3 needed something like that.

The only truth that came from that absurd assertion was...
The cycle does indeed continue.

It's bad for being in the wrong game and also being way to easy with handholding choices.

I basically liked the hanar diplomat mission, though I agree that the hanar homeworld was treated a bit lightly

My only real problem was that I found the interrupt unclear, and had to do a hasty reload.

Indeed.

I thought the vorcha Councillor in the Blasto movie was a much better Councillor than any of the real ones too.

Geesh, complaining about light heartedness in a sidequest. I guess we should also crucify Conrad Verner and cut out all this nonsense with squaddies wasting time on the Citadel. Not to mention Joker.

Rhetorics aside, the thing that has kept the Mass Effect trilogy afloat has been the self-awareness. Whenever Mass Effect forgets its a game, you get the things like the ending with labels of artistic integrity.

The thing I don't get about the ME2 plot hate is that you all actually think the plot is all that important in the first place. Like it was some crucial thing we desperately need to get on with. ME2 had a cool way of making it seem relevant, but postponing the actual threat at the same time.

The Reapers are the worst thing about Mass Effect. They seemed cool at first, but they're just glorified party crashers. The minute something like the Reapers are allowed to be unleashed, they'll destroy the setting. But it's the setting that's the only thing worth caring about in the first place. The fun is in just being some badass spacecop, gallavanting around the universe, making friends, falling in love, cracking heads, righting random wrongs. Or whatever. Kick puppies if you want. Why the hell would you want the Reapers around?
