Personally, I would have liked a bit more Origin-specific features in the main game, possibly in the form of quests, etc, other than simply altered dialogue at various points. As it is the only ones who really *add* stuff beyond the Origins are Dalish Elf (an encounter) and Dwarf Noble (a quest - and even then, only if you're male).

Full agreement. The origins were such a hyped feature but in retrospect I really have to say they were overhyped. They change nothing but some dialog fluff. They do not provide anything special or unique. That is a real disappointment for me and one big reason -- aside from the lack of consequences for one's actions and conduct -- for why I have lost interest in the game despite my pre-release resolution to play it repeatedly.

I never finished a game with a
female/female Leliana relationship, but with my male,  the camera
zoomed in on Leliana's face and you could see the tears.

No sign of that in my game. And I suppose the "together forever" line isn't supposed to happen if you weren't with Alistair? Bah.I guess my game for some unfathomable reason thought my PC was with him during the eulogy, though he was firmly on the friendship path and Leliana at 100% Love which the game recognized otherwise.

In the Zevran sacrifice ending, if Anora gives the eulogy, you get a closeup of Zevran's face, and he is devastated.  If Alistair gives the eulogy, you don't get the closeup which is too bad, because Alistair's face just doesn't have the same depth of sorrow.

Try this if you play again; romance him, don't harden him, don't make him King, don't let Loghain live n sacrifice yourself... I did this human noble n the ending was so well it was interesting as far as what Alistair does after, I felt so bad for himPosted Image.  I'm really interested in Awakenings if I load this 1 what might of become of Alistair or if it will even mention that.

He turns out the same if you harden him.

Lol I've never done that 1 as him hardened... Everytime I harden him I end up making him King... Just out of curiosity does he get mad if you've hardened him n don't make him King?  1 of these times I'll have to do it but I'm just curious

No, he doesn't.  There is no disapproval at least.  Just don't tell him beforehand that you're not going to make him king -- that upsets him.

This is a side issue to the thread, but I mildly dispute the idea that the sacrifice ending is "noble." That is the case only if you completely swallow the Chantry take on the Old Gods. If up to then you've played as one giving second chances at redemption to Sten, Leliana, Zevran, the odd blood mage, etc., then it is consistent with your noble character to do the same for a corrupted old god. Morrigan says as much, and many of my PCs have found this a compelling argument.

I found the dwarf noble ending completely satisfying. I ended up sacrificing myself, but they didn't burn my body because of dwarf burial rituals. The dwarven kingdom did a lot in my memory and even if this character isn't in the expansion, there will be memorials to this character and I think that would be very exciting to see!

I think the hard part will be to not try out the alternate endings with this character because the Role-Playing side of me wants to commit to the decisions made.

While I'd always like to see more in a game, DA:O has far exceeded my expectations with the storyline and how each origin can influence your decisions in the game. (as long as you don't use the information you gained from other characters/origins) As a Dwarf Noble there would have been no way Behlen would be living, but as another character, who knows!
