Do you think this would be a good idea?

I know I would buy it. Hopefully, they include all the DLC with it.

Probably one of those things that, if it existed, would crop up later into the generation as a legacy kind HD re-release to "celebrate" the original trilogy, after the next couple of next-gen specific Mass Effect games are out.

Honestly one of the things that is holding me back from buying one of the new systems this year is the lack of backwards compatibility, and ME3 is still one of my favorite games to play because of the multiplayer. If they released something like this in the near future & still supported online multiplayer I would probably make the jump.

as someone who has already bought the trilogy multiple times, I'd rather not think about it...now I know how those people who keep rebuying the beatles feel

Not sure if they'll do anything to the graphics or gameplay (probably not), but I'd expect a "legacy" digital download collection somewhere down the road.

If not, the PS5 certainly will, it will the be under the label of a "Classic." While the even older titles will be called "Arcade Oldies."

Not gonna lie: I felt a pang of old-age when I saw PS1 games referred to as "classics".

No point or financial gain. Also big waste of time.

Bioware is working on new Mass Effect game ( part of new trilogy ! ) & all their effort, resources, time & money should go towards new Mass Effect on PCs & next generation consoles ( WiiU of course excluded because that is failed last generation console) on Frostbite 3 engine.

If they included all the DLC on the disc, I'd buy the PS4 version. I've wanted a real ME ultimate edition for a long time now.

I got PC versions. I got PS3 versions.

PS4 version would be nice but only when the saga is finished.

if there was going to be a complete HD remastered Trilogy re-release i would think EA would pass it on to another less occupied studio to repolish and re-release in about 5 years at the earliest, but that's assuming the Mass Effect IP is still drawing sales

ME is the only reason I even have an XBox, so yeah, probably won't get the next one until ME can run on it.

I'd definitely buy it! Maybe in 2017 or 2022 we can see an HD Remaster of the trilogy that includes all three games, all the dlc, as well as the following additions (sorry if this sounds unrealistic. I don't know the limits of remasters of games, so I'm just letting all my ideas out there):

1. Remake Pinnacle Station so playstation people can enjoy that (I know, I know it is the worst dlc pack in ME, but I still had fun in it)

2. Fix the issue so that you can see the paragon outcome with Verner in ME1 play out in 2 without gibbed save editor

3. fix it so that Elanos Haliat from that ME1 is a Turian like they originally intended him to be

4. add some new N7 missions to ME3 (as in, using the maps from the MP DLC's, put them in the SP as additional N7 missions alongside the original ones)

5. add an offline option for the MP, so you can do th MP with three computer characters instead of three real people (that way if you are playing ME3 without internet access, you can still get that 100% Galactic Readiness [I know, it is technically useless now, but I'd still like to earn the 100% GR and Me and my Xbox may be in a place with spotty/slow internet sometimes])

6. update ME1's graphics

7. do some bug fixing

Including the DLC, updating graphics and fixing bugs (which would include the import issue with Conrad) are common for this sort of thing. I was surprised when the trilogy pack didn't add the DLC because most GOTY or ultimate editions do. New missions or other alterations are less likely.

An offline option for multiplayer would be great, either with AI or local co-op with other players. My consoles are always offline, so the galactic readiness is already a problem for me. If they didn't bring the multiplayer over to next-gen consoles though, they'd at least have to include the patch that lowers the EMS requirements (and I think they should anyway).

It'd take a lot of work to upgrade three full and lengthy games. I don't see it happening.

With PS3 they could just port the existing assets across. This would be re-doing a bunch of stuff, diverting resources away from ME4, and to be honest I think they'd just want to leave the original trilogy alone now. They're done with Shepard and they want the public to know that. Re-releasing it all again blurs the line between the old and the new.

I don't think they have the time or resources to do this, considering DA3 and ME4 are in development for next-gen.

If they ever did that I demand that they fix ALL bugs during cutscenes and general story glitches and animations as well.

Otherwise I already have the 1080p 60fps Mass Effect Trilogy on my PC :-P
