Also what is the go with that Kossith crap? I remember there was a rumour floating around that Qunari could be officially renamed Kossith due to the amount of people misusing the term, has this happened or has it been officially denied?

Well, for some unknown reason Gaider hasn't come up with a name for the grey horns yet(the qunari giant race). If he did, he doesn't want to reveal it. Some people find it problamatic, others find it annoying.

Yes, it has been denied, but Kossith will be what I will be calling them, until there's an official name for that race.

There is an official name for that race: Kossith. The gray-skinned horned giants are called Kossith.

However, in game, nobody actually uses that term. They are known to all commoners as "Qunari" and because everyone just calls them that, it sticks. Qunari themselves see no reason to distinguish their own race; they are servants of the Qun only, and as such are called Qunari. Anything  Kossith that is not Qunari is beneath them and most likely not worth of a racial name, and are branded Tal-Vashoth.

So basically, nobody uses the word Kossith in lore, everybody knows them as "Qunari" only.
However IRL we know they're actually called Kossith.

Nope sorry but you're wrong, Kossith was never the name of the race it was the name of the culture before they converted to the Qun and modern Qunari do no have an individual name for their race and will remain Qunari to them and everyone else in the game and to people who actually know what they are talking about since the writer's and devs have already made this clear and it's not difficult to understand.

Someone should Sticky Spectre slayer's post. People are STILL using Kossith in the wrong context and swearing it's the right one.

As for me, I couldn't care less who the female qunari can romance. I'm interested in playing as one and see how the world reacts to this choice.

My first Inquisitor will be a Tal-Vashoth blood mage. Gender based on my skill with the new character creator.

No it isn't. That is the name of the ones who follow the Qun.

Yes it is. Bioware (and the qunari themselves) use the term 'qunari' to indicate both the race and the member of the Qun. When they announced the fourth playable race, they called it 'qunari'. That's the official term.

So now they're using it to denote the race as well as the religion, pathetic. "So this time we got the Qunari race for the protagonist, but it's Tal Vashoth". Oh well.

No.

Qunari are the race of gray skinned horned giants. This is their race name and what all other peoples of Thedas know them as.

All non grey skinned followers of The Qun are called  Viddathari by the Qunari -- the race of Gray Skinned Giants who follow The Qun.

Kossith is an unknown and unused word for a long dead CULTURE of the Qunari people. No one in Thedas will know what it means. Not even the Qunari themselves in most cases.

Qunari is the word for the religion and the people. One word, two meanings. Just as if I were to say I was Jewish - which in my case means my families ancestory, not my religion.

It's really not that hard of a concept.

My Aunt is a Jew because she converted to Judaism. Her husband is a Jew because that's his ethnicity. Is your mind blown yet?

They always used it to denote both the race and the Qun. They never used Kossith or any other terms to indicate them.
I don't see why it should be pathetic. Were you expecting to play as a member of the Qun?

Not really, I was just expecting them to drop the stubborness and give the race a proper name, which not used in other terms. Right now, Qunari is used to denote the race and the ones of the Qun.

It is not a concept I couldn't grasp, I was just unaware of the word being used to denote the race as well as the religion by Bioware.

Understood. Though it's not stubborness. The race was created to called that way, as well as the member of the Qun.

I don't think height really matters. The female grey giant should be able to fall for whatever available romanceable companion like any other PC (dwarf, elf, human) and available romanceable companions should be able to fall for her like any other PC (dwarf, elf, human). I don't see why there needs to be special allowances for the female grey giant alone because some people think tall women shouldn't like shorter men or women.

Female Hawke could fall for Merrill in DA2 and I don't see anyone accusing her of having some weird fetish. She fell for someone who happened to be shorter and thinner than her. Who cares?

If you don't want to romance someone shorter than your female grey giant, then don't do it.

^Exactly

Exactly bis.

I'm really intrested in playng one for the same reason. I really loved to play as a mage in DAO; to be either feared or hated only because i was a mage and nothing more ... then proving people my worth and changing or not their perception of my mage character, that was awesome.
It was hard to play a warrior or rogue again after that.

And why female ? that' my preference in video games if the character looks good, and from the few art work, the female qunari can looks awesome. I hope the ingame model will be at least as good as that.
Also, human, dwarf, elf, mayny people played one already from any other RPG before. A qunari ? no.

So i hope Bioware is aware of that and will make it a distinctive enough impact in the story from PNJ perception. I wouldn't like my qunari character to be seen and treated same as a human.

Not really that interested in the Qunari.
Will play one eventually , but way down the line.
I doubt Bioware will develope race specific sexual practices.

Considering Dragon Age is still primarily heteronormative in its presentation of sexuality in Thedas, I fully expect that the tastes of female qunari in general run towards male qunari.

Considering it seems that most do not leave the main homeland, they have probably not been exposed to other races that much, beyond the converts.

Considering that most people in real life are heterosexual primarily, I don't see a problem with this.
