So Mass Effect 3's Ashley romance has some bugged lines, but there's one actual in game line I saw on YouTube where Shepard tells her that when he first saw her on Eden Prime he "didn't know his life would change" during the romance scene, but on my playthrough he says "I saw a woman who never gave up". This is weird to me because I romanced her in Mass Effect and was loyal through Mass Effect 2 and have played once paragon and once renegade. Anyone got an Idea about what makes the difference? and also in the original script there was a scenario where you had to pick between the Virmire survivor (Kaiden/Ashley) or Liara and one of them would die. This would happen if you had not successfully held back Kai Leng in the temple. Who would have liked to have this scene and who would you pick? I would obviously choose Ashley. And anyone know any other plot elements from the leaked script that should have made it into the game?

As for the Ashley lines, I don't know; I've never played past ME1 with her.

ON Liara/VS survivor on Thessia...that would be a hard choice (for my canon Shepard) but it would probably come down to the fact that I have both Javik and the Prothean Cypher, so Liara is a bit...redundant for him. Other  Shepards I have would disagree though.

Don't forger Aresh, Wreav, and umm.. I don't know a good counterpart for Miranda. Petrovsky maybe. Or Wilson. Hmm.

obviously brooks for Miranda. and we need Maelon, Morinth, and Vito

Damn, yeah.. Brooks.

I'm going to chang my mind here. I think Petrovsky is better as a foil for Miranda, mostly because so far the squad is a litle squishy and he seemed more level headed than Brooks. Add Petrovsky as a soldier, Wreav as a Warlord Sentinel and Aresh as a Project Phoenix Vangaurd, and i think we've just been beefed up a bit. But I would still add Brooks as an infiltrator and Xen as an engineer (we need more ladies).

The thing that stood out about Petrovsky to me (in the comics) is that he's a true loyalist. Miranda was dubbed "The Loyalist" but she had limits. Petrovsky actually questions himself and TIM about some things, but he doesn't do what Miranda does. He tucks his tail between his legs and gives in to whatever TIM asks.

Never read the comics myself. Though I never got that sense from Petrovsky in-game. He had his own reasons for doing what he did. "I'm not on TIM's side, I'm on humanity's side.". He also didn't mind ratting out Cerberus secrets to the Alliance at the end of Omega. Then again, if it's that or have Aria roast you slowly over a fire I guess he didn't have much of a choice.

There's no "greatest waifu" because there's no one single Shepard. When people remember that, you can have a good discussion.

That, and if people wouldn't get so damn defensive when someone criticises their waifu for a charcter flaw or just because they didn't like said character. Ofcourse there's also the full time trollers.

The problem is some are way too invested in these character(s). It not so much about the "greatest waifu" but more like when they see someone ripping on there character, they take it personally. I'm not even knocking it, its just there. In some cases its an off chute of deep rooted issues and I think because of this I try to be more diplomatic when writing complaints about a character.

I guess its all a mute point these days since there are very few left on the ME boards that take anything seriously. :D

Would have been better had this thread not been revived TIM. Oh well, I guess it deserves one more chance......yeah, I'm being hopelessly optimistic.
