Anders does, though. Don't care if he murders people. He's an attentive lover. Which is a bazillion times more important.
I think you meant obsessive lover*
Oh, I don't doubt that one go with the other but the obsessive part kinda throw me off personally, even in a videogame it seems
Yeah Fenris's romance as a mage was pretty cute, at least on the playthrough I did. I even think it actually was my favorite romance out of the four, probably with Isabella coming second.
I guess the mages romance didn't appeal to me so much, since I wasn't too fan of Merril's either.

The cold, dead, hollow way he says "Justice does not approve of my obsession with you. He thinks it will jeaopardize the mission" (walks forward calmly) freaks me out every time. He sounds like a paranoid schizophrenic matter-of-factly informing you that the voice does not like you before he tries to stab you. There is such a thing as "too attentive."
Exactly, for exemple I flirted a little bit with the guy a few times just to see and he randomly say that he's been aching for me for 3 years and act like we're entering in a relationship and everything, like dude calm the **** down.

Didn't like him in the slightest... seriously, he dumps you for three years over some hallucinations that turn out to be a wild goose chase. He was so flipped out over the whole deal with his sister, when all it turned out to be was a trap to enslave him again. Nutjob.

For as annoying as Fenris was, he was still better then Anders and that's saying ALOT.
He's got even more anger issues and loose screws... also, he's kinda ugly. Then again, all DA2's elves are..

At least he wasn't creepy, obsessed with you, had a spirit inside of him that ironically wasn't into you no matter how much he himself was, and didn't make you in accomplice in domestic terrorism. I can do a lot of bad things in a video game but there's a line there, I'm not crossing it. I didn't even realize I had a line till DA2.
I can deal with ugly if it means I'm not romancing Bin Laden.

Just gonna throw my opinion in on the DA2 bi-romances thing... I didn't have problem with EVERYONE being Bi, it was moreso WHY, for me. Anders and Isabella had reasons/a backstory. Fenris you could assume. But Merril? I dunno, for me, it just felt weird her being bi. I actually preferred her with a female Hawke...
As for DA:I romances... Well, as stated before (even with different writers) ME2 ans 3 had HEAPS of romance-ables. And with 9 confirmed, possinle companions, i'm sure we could manage more than 4 L.I's in DA:I.
I have 6 characters in both Origins and 2, each with different views and sexualities, so having the romances be more like ME-styles would suit me very muchly.
And as a Gaymer, give me a sexy elf guy for my Bloodmage to badoink-a-doink, and i'll be doubley happy
We had eight companions in Origins. We had nine in DA2. So there's no reason for having nine companions in Inquisition to make people think that 9 potential companions suddenly makes it more likely to have more than four LIs.
TECHNICALLY DA:2 did have 6 LI's. You had the 4 bi ones, Sebastian, and an unsuccessful Aveline.

I believe that's when he said he would WANT to do it. Also, I don't have the source, so that may have been joking and whatever else. I find it a bit hard to believe simply because they don't get around to revealing all the companions until a couple or few months before release. I wouldn't take the Valentine's Day date seriously as of now though. Plus, Gaider's technically the lead writer and not in marketing, so I have no idea if he has any sizeable degree of control over that part of the company.eluvianix wrote...

Well Alitair just dumped you like a piece of garbage, and whined constantly about you doing bad things. Anders, however, stuck by you in the end, no matter what. He also wasn't above doing a lot of morally questionable things (even besides blowing up the Chantry), and didn't criticize Hawke's darker actions so much. So, they weren't entirely the same.
Also, Zevran was a bazillion times more sane and a lot less whingy than Fenris. He was also a much more caring and attentive lover, who, again, stays by the PC's side through thick and thin.
Let me guess you played a Mage, Elf, or dwarf then proclaimed at the landsmeet that you would rule with Alistair and got laughed out the room and dumped.

Memories and hallucinations are two different things.
How does his sister setting him up for enslavement again make him a nutjob?
Me thinks someone has issues with getting dumped. I suppose it's okay for a guy to lie to you but heaven help him if he dumps you.

As for female LIs for males (as was originally intended by the OP (sorry dude)) I'm actually not that bothered. Mostly because I kinda want Vivienne and Cassandra to kiss.

I'm torn because I honestly feel like having less romance options would make for better writing and story, but at the same time I like options. Having only one possible romance for how you want to play your character is never good. I liked Zevran, his romance-line was interesting, and his character changed and developed, but he was also one of those people who never, never, quit talking about themselves and their point of view. And those people are never good to date for very long. So only having him as an option for a gay male character was not fun. There were similar issues in DA:II but there were some beautiful moments for both Fenris and Anders.
I think the Kaidan and Steve romances in ME3 were incredibly interesting, mostly because there were moments where it was not just about their interests/problems, but instead tried to show some concern for treating Shepard like a person, and not their own personal "problem solver". Granted this mostly occurred in DLC.
So now with that out there, I can answer your question. I am not excited about any of the possible LI for a male character. Varric should not be into the player, in my opinion. Cassandra seems like it would be all about breaking her cold, up-tight persona, and that is too much of a cliche, for me. Vivienne seems like the best, she's confident, funny, and seems more extroverted. Yet, I prefer other male romances. So... the rest are speculation. Cullen seems like his romance story would be himself struggling with his ideologies, so not what I want. Cole would be trying to figure out what he is. Iron Bull could be interesting, but I can't see him reciprocating much. Dorian is a big unknown, but sounds like a weird version of Anders, but with less spirits inside him. The older gray warden could be interesting, as long as it does not come off too much like when I read the Symposium. Sera sounds like Jack/Zevran. So a good story, but one that is getting predictable.
In short, I want romance options that feel like two people who care for each other, but don't depend on one another. I'm tired of that trope. I also am kind of hoping most of the speculated characters are just speculation and we get a different group.
Edit: Spelling and grammar. Still probably not fixed. I just got back to the States from visiting some family, and I'm not adjusted to English yet. Also, I'm not really trying to say those characters are bad, but I am not that interested in those types of characters as much as I used to be. We'll see.
