Oh I forgot fanboys too, silly me. :)

@TheButterflyEffect

I think Cullen's definately in the game his role is most likely a LI and party member, due to his high demand.
Yeah I'm trying (unsuccessfully) not to get my hopes up for the concept either, lest my fangirl heart shatter into a million pieces. :)

I now realise how wierd and creepy it is to want Cole as a LI, I read Asunder quite a while ago so I forgot he regressed back to childhood mentally.
I'm gonna forget I ever considered wanting him as a LI, though I'd like to see him in the game as I still think he's a cool character.

Soooo.. I think Cullen, Varric and The Iron Bull would be great as LI's, but I need an Elven male for my Femelfquisitor.
Plus Elves and "the grey skins" are my favourite races. :)

If the line that Mr Gaider or someone tweeted about saying something like it will make the fans say "HOW DARE HE SAY THAT" is this:

The Inquisitor: "Tell me a bit about yourself, Cullen."

Cullen: "I'm happily married."

Imagine it, there will be an outcry of "Cully" fangirls everywhere. :)

May or may not be a male elf mage who may or may not be an LI.

It doesn't seem that this thread is ever going to refocus on what the OP wanted to discuss, does it?

Depends how you interpret the title. One way you could read it would be, who are our female LI? Another way would be who are the romance options for female players.

Yeah, and this is after he tried fixing the original title. To be fair though, in the OP is kinda clarifies that he is talking about the female LIs and he's made a few posts about it.

I am just really hoping for Cassandra<3... For both male and female inquisitors.

It's hard to say though... I have heard rumors that not all characters will be bisexual. I think that is both a good thing and bad thing. (Means a little less choice for me...)

For the male LIs..
I think Cullen is also probable! He has been a favorite for some time.
I doubt Varric is but stranger things have happened.

Great, I have a feeling I'm going to have to roll a female just to romance Cullen. Image IPB

So help me, if Bioware pulls that crap, I will have the pitchforks and torches ready for our Exalted March.

Neither Cassandra nor this Vivienne appear to be romantically appealing to me.  With my luck, I'll probably end up liking a character that I literally can't romance.  In Mass Effect 1, it was Tali.  In Dragon Age II, it was Bethany.  In Dragon Age: Awakening, it was Mhairi and Sigrun.  And I never did get the chance to flirt with Queen Anora, even when I was supposed to marry her.

The sad thing is, the rumors coming out now seem to indicate this is what they're doing.  I wish they'd stick with the all-inclusive concept.  The point has been made over and over and over again that having enough LIs to cover the gay-bi-straight range does not solve the issue of people being cut off from LIs who are gender-specific if those players don't want to play that gender.

I was much happier with the original assertion by Gaider that the playersexual/bisexual, whatever-the-hell-you-wanna-call it was the way things would stay.  It makes far more sense to go this inclusive route than to arbitrarily assign gender checks.

Yeah, I liked the all-inclusive aspect of the romances. It was nice to have options just beyond the one bi LI that I could romance as a guy. Oh well...nothing we can do but to wait and see what happens. :(I guess as long as I can find one LI that looks good and can interest me, I will be satisfied.

I'm not 100% convinced either of them are LI's. I'm not sure which of them but I think one of them is along with the Elven girl.

This.  I would have romanced Morrigan if I could've.  But I'm damned if I'm going to be forced to play a male character just to experience an aspect of the game from which I'm otherwise excluded.

I think Cassandra is all but a given.  Vivienne is the real unknown.  Which is disappointing because she's the one I'm most interested in of the women.

Exactly. I had the same problem with Alistair. I hated that I only had one choice a gaymer (don't get me wrong though, Zevran was great). I tried to play a female character to try and romance Alistair, then it just felt so weird. I hated the fact that I had to change my character's gender to experience an awesome piece of the game from which I was otherwise excluded.

You guys normally play as your own gender only? I like to try everything and experience all differences. To me it spices things up not to only play as what I am in real life.

In my case, I have not played as a female in any of Bioware's games. I play as if it were myself in the game more or less. Granted, I will shift race and class, but I still stick with my own gender. It seems the most familiar to me.

I think they shouldn't change a characters personality so as to fit into the sexual preference of the player. Exclusive romances are good. Just like the inability to romance some characters.

@Silfren: Gaider always stated that his favorite approach was to have LI with different sexualities: the reason they chose the DA2 approach was because it was the only way for having multiple choices for everyone (his goal) without incresing the LI number; it was never his intention to give the players to romance everyone. He stated that they'd likely follow that approach in DAI for cost reasons; if they changed to the first approach, it might be for the time extension.
While I understand that people could be pissed by the fact that they might not be able to romance the character they want, Bioware stated (Laidlaw on GI, I believe) that they're not afraid of locking players out of content; it seems that they include the romance content in this approach.

Back to the OP... I'm not sure WHO the romance options will be, and personally I don't care... The personalities I want to see are as follows:

-The Innocent Pixie (maybe an elf... someone who isn't corrupted by blood magic or anything else... think the girl next door or your best friend's little sister who has suddenly grown breasts)

-The Fiery Exterior that hides a vulnerable heart (someone who's always quick tempered and passionate, but is actually really scared of letting someone close/doesn't believe someone could actually love them)

-The Ice Queen (stunningly beautiful and she knows it, knows how to use her beauty get her way, and scoffs at attempts at romance, but secretly longs to find her equal)

-The Unattainable Love (someone so high above your position or from a vastly different culture that a real relationship seems impossible, but you both want each other so much it hurts... Think like the Divine/Queen or a Qunari devoted to the Qun)

-The Forbidden Love (someone you clearly aren't supposed to fall for but you do... think about your cousin Shianni, a fade spirit, an enemy, or the wife of someone who trusts you)

-The **** (someone who throws herself at you and every other attractive person you encounter, is free will sex, and doesn't believe in true love until you show her what it is... yes, I know we've already had this multiple times)

The Scarred (the one who has some form of mutilation due to a twisted past. The finds herself hideous and never trusts any advances made towards her even though you can see she's actually beautiful... someone you can "fix" for all you manly men out there that like fixing broken things)

Personality=/=sexual orientation

Personally, I really want all the LIs to be available for both genders. But, as long as each gender has different dialogue. Like Anders' romance for example. I wouldn't like completely gender neutral romances.
