I want something along the lines of a "normal" girl, I suppose.  Someone not insane or cruel.  Someone down-to-earth; a nice person who believes in love, marriage and all that.  Sense of humor would be good too.

I romanced Morrigan because I love the idea of a nice guy winning the heart of the so-called ice queen, Tali'Zorah because I found her personality & voice to be cute as hell even in ME1 and she's very nice, and Leliana (with a different warden, of course) because she's a nice girl.  Bethany would have been awesome if she wasn't Hawke's sister.  In real life, I'm turned off by the Isabella "sex for everyone" outlook on life, but my Hawke chose her anyway because Merill's insistence on blood magic was unhealthy.  Between the three of that lot, Aveline would definitely be my pick, but like Bethany, she is unromancable.

As superficial as this may sound, I don't like Cassandra's short hair, though.

I agree with this for the most part.  As far as I know, Cassandra seems smart, capable, and powerful, and doesn't have some glaring personality flaw that you have to fix or work around.  So that's something to hope for.
Eh... let's keep the short hair though.

I always like it when warrior-types are shown with short hair.  Seems pretty damned practical for that kind of lifestyle in my view.

I've read that one character on the leak was scrapped/heavily changed. It might be him, if the male elf shown in the concept is his evolution. The elf doesn't have tattoos, so he hopefully isn't a dalish (no offence, I'm planning to do a dalish mage as my first PC, but I'm tired about dalish mage companions), and he's still a magister.

That is a good catch. I was actually thinking the same thing. Perhaps the two are one and the same.

I guess you mean Dorian . Some players wanted Maevaris, or however it's spelled, the transgender character from the comics but Gaider said no to that.
Would rather had someone else, not enthralled by the party thus far, but we'll see.

I'm really excited about the party, everyone except for, perhaps Cullen sounds like quite the interesting and exciting character. This Dorian fellow in particular has a lot of potential, and I know for a fact that I'll be having to play at least one male inquisitor in order to romance Cass or Viv (assuming they're options). The only thing that concerns me is that there's really only been 3 female companions mentioned thus far, Viv, Cass, and Sera. It seems rather unbalanced for a party with 9 companions. 

Also, I don't think Mae has made her last appearance just yet. Her character was created to far along in the development process for her to really be implemented as more than just an NPC in this game, but she might have a future in future installments.

Wait... I think only one of those guys out of the three listed has a mustache, and said mustache is being kept company by a rather full beard. Also, mustaches are awesome, they can add a lot of character to a guy's face when used appropriatly.

...Annnnnnd that'd be because in my efforts to cut the pyramid quote down a bit I borked it. Fixing now.

ETA: The only appropriate way to use a mustache is to shave it off and sweep it into the trash.  <_<
