ETA: The only appropriate way to use a mustache is to shave it off and sweep it into the trash.  <_<
It is a demand of the Qun.

Not even Aragorn likes that suggestion.

and if she's the inquisitor, I will make sure to make her exactly like her.

And that's the reason why I prefer book!Aragorn:  The man did not have a beard, due to his Elvish heritage.

I don't remember it ever explicitly saying he was clean shaven.... And if he was I prefer the rugged look.

I mean he spends more time in the wilderness where shaving would not be a concern than amongst people who would be put off by it.

It's not a question of not shaving because when you're tromping about the woods you have other concerns: Aragorn simply could not grow facial hair at all.  As far as evidence, well, firstly there's the fact that Tolkien never describes Aragorn as having a beard, and it seems like he would have, considering he does mention it for other characters who do have them.  But more importantly, in the book Unfinished Tales, Tolkien states that since elves do not have facial hair, men of elvish descent, like Aragorn, would likewise not have any.

Alas I have not started it yet..  I have Gardens of the Moon loaded in my Kindle for as soon as I'm done with this Robin Hobb series, though.

I'm pretty sure she's the inquisitor, and a pretty good looking one at that, but I'm still partial to this gorgeous gal

The vibe she gives off is both equal parts kind and commanding, plus she's a little stouter so I can imagine being able to pull off her look with a Dwarfish PC. If she turns out to be a companion, however, I might just have to romance her.

What a fascinating bit of lore, and completely contrary to many later interpretations of half-elves. In many works, such as DnD, half-elves are often described as elves with shorter ears and a beard.

I know, give me rugged Aragorn any day over some clean shaven baby faced one. Not that I don't like men clean shaven as well. But if facial hair looks good on a man then I'm not complaining. Posted Image

Am I seriously the only person in the entire BSN who prefers folks to be clean-shaven?

I even use mods for Alistair to get rid of the bit of stubble he has.  Would do the same for Anders in DA2 if there actually were any such mods.

Bare-faced Varric for DA3 LI!

Aragorn's elvish decent is a bit...dated

And I don't think the lack of description of facial hair is proof of its absence. He just might not have mentioned some constant scruff.

I've just always pictured him with it so I guess I'm biased

Can't tell. Is her eyes closed or are they open? If open she looks rather pissed....

Haha What do you you expect? A Qunari is a Qunari... (Well not really.)

It is very weird how a hair style can kill it.
Elves are usually my favorite race but girl... get your hair done.

It looks like a 5 year old who's mom cut her hair with a bowl. She looks crazy though... so I think it might be perfect.

LOL, well I already indicated that it wasn't exactly the primary bit of evidence.  But since Tolkien describes beards often, and elaborately, with other characters, I do think that the complete absence of any mention of one in Aragorn's case can be taken to mean that the man has no beard.

As for the other, yes Aragorn's elvish descent is dated, but there's no indication anywhere in Tolkien's writings that that matters in the slightest--and in the particular case of Aragorn, characters make references to his blood hearkening back to the strength and glory of the original Men of Westerness.  Tolkien wasn't the sort to let actual genetics get in the way of mystical grandeur.

There's some discrepancies (there's a TON of discrepancies in Tolkien's works in regards to just about everythin!)--i.e. Cirdan the Shipwright had a beard, despite Tolkien's assertions that elves never had beards ever, but if you look at his overall writings I think it's pretty clear that ultimately it was Tolkien's intention that elves and Men descended from Elves would be beard-free, no shaving necessary.

It'd be nice if they had a lesbian romance with a darker character in DA and ME the lesbian romances are between the protagonist and a bright and cheery romance. Liara/Traynor/Merrill/Leliana(though her hardening remedies this a bit), Isabela, you get the picture.

Just to change it up have the darker LI be a lesbian option.

That does not look like a chick who cares one wink about what you think of her haircut. In fact, I suspect she might go out over her way to make it look even worse if you were to ever bring it up to her.

I like the idea of a female character with a bit of crudeness to her. Her party banter's going to be amazing if she turns out to be a companion.

Who do I guess is the new female romance option? I would say it is the person in an unseen concept-art that make you think untold love story/ must know them more.
