nugs

everything is nugs

Yeah, but nugs are so small, how would they be able to make enough milk for dwarves to actually bother with harvesting it?

A better question to ponder on the subject of dwarves is why they aren't all pasty white and poor of eyesight?

B/c everything is well lit?

Wait a second... where did this come from! Was someone contemplating whether or not to give a Dwarven love interest chocolates!

I wonder if Varric could be bought with chocolate?  I'm sure Vivienne could.  Being culturally Orlesian you know she's all about the decadent luxuries!

As far as skin color goes, perhaps the pigmintation protects against things like Lyrium radition, or is merely a genetic trait passed down from surface dwelling ancestors. As for the eyes, look closely at the Dwarves from DA:II you'll notice that many dwarves who supposedly grew up or were born below the surface have pale blue eyes that could indicate either poorer eyesight or better night vision.  Dwarves like Varric, who grew up on the surface, are far more inclined to have darker eyes.

I didn't realize that lighter colored eyes could be indicative of poorer vision, though it makes sense when you think about it.  I've now looked it up and learned also that eye color can affect color vision.

Lighter eyes get more easily burned by brighter lights. The pigment in irises protects the eyes from bright lights as much as the pigment in skin protects against sunburns. That's why people with blue or green eyes need to wear hats and sunglasses to avoid becoming night-blind, or people with albinism need to shade their eyes in strong light. The less pigment, the less protection.

It would be nice if we could give companions a few more gifts than we were allowed in DA:II, I understand that DA:O was way too spammable and impersonal, but perhaps a happy medium could be achieved.

I'm certain Varric would love a nice box of Orlesian choclates, provided they tasted of tragic romance and the freshly fallen tears of avid readers. Viviene, of course, would never let such mundane flavorers pass between her lips, her chocolates must taste of nothing less than the awe and admiration one feels just by being in her presence or else she won't go near them.

I thought that the way DA2 handled gifts was better, but I would have liked a few more instances.  But maybe that's just because overall I would have liked to talk to them more than once or twice per act.  I enjoyed the way the conversations were handled I just didn't think there were enough of them.

Tragic romance and freshly fallen tears?  That's the kind of chocolate Varric likes? Hmm.  I wonder if he's related to David Gaider.

Niiiice.  I like the first one, but somehow I can't see Cassandra as a woman given to blushing.  :D

I really want more gifts in as well. I like how in DA 2 the cut scenes made the gifts more intimate but I felt like there were just not enough. I also like how all of the gifts were specific to each character in DA2.

I do prefer the more personal touch DA2 added to their gifts, but at the same time, I liked trying to pick out what gifts my companions would like the best, based on who much I knew about them. It'd be nice if some of that could be added back in somehow, without removing the personal touch gifts. But it's really not too much of a big deal to me, like you said, I just enjoy having lots of opportunities to interact with, and get to know companions.

I have a feeling that when it comes to their writing, Gaider and Varric might just share a few similarities. It's just a feeling though, I don't have and concrete evidence to back it up just yet.

I liked the feastday gifts from Origins. They were cute and by time they came out, I had played and replayed Origins so many times that I didn't feel the gifts were breaking the game, unless I WANTED to break it then that was my choice, lol.

Like what happens if I get Alistair really really mad.... WOW! LOLOLOL! Okay, gift it up and fix. lol.

Dwarves are big burly men, just not vertically. Seriously, have you even looked at the male dwarves? Check out the size of those biceps. Holy crapola.

Dwarf men must be incredibly strong...

HOT.

Yet still so short.:(
That is really the only reason I am not interested in any Dwarf Li.

What about a half-dwarf?  Tall for a dwarf, short for a human.

Such a union is extremely rare. We have no idea what they look like.

Gaider said in the thread he closed, you do remember that one don't you ?
You were there at the time if I recall correctly. But Gaider said romances were very important to some people . Likewise important is who they can romance.

This post has left me quite confused.

I'm not sure how whether or not I get paid overtime is relevant to anything, nor what thread you're referring to Gaider posting in.

I probably was there, but you are rather cryptic....

I don't disagree that romances are very important to some people.  Did I say otherwise?

Don't worry.  Several of their posts have been just as cryptic, as if we're only seeing half of a conversation.  It's not just you.

And then there's those of us of middling height who don't care about height so much one way or the other..we simply don't want to have to use a step-ladder to access our LIs. <_<

The post AngryWolves made may have been going under the assumption that volunteer moderators get paid for their services. As far as I know, they don't.

As far as romance options go, pretty much anything besides the archetypes we've seen before...unless it involves Morinth. If they somehow made a Morinth 2.0, I would probably be cool with that. XD
