I most likely will be a sword and shield warrior ( and I mean strictly swords and kite shields )
I favor the offensive flavor to shield-wielding though and will most likely take the damage oriented specializations.
I can't wait

I'm gonna run with a female elf mage, probably a blood mage, hopefully Dalish. Can't wait to burn down some Shem villages:devil:
I doubt we'll have the chance to make our PC Dalish. To do that, we'd need a new voice actor and actress for male/female elves for an entire game. I suppose you could roleplay that you're elf was a lost Dalish child rasied in another society. But without the accent, they just won't seem Dalish. Least, not to me.

The Dalish warden didn't have the accent. Also I'm pretty sure the devs said you could be Dalish if you wanted to.CastonFolarus wrote...

In DA: Origins I played as human Noble (Female Warrior) only because of my character's LI Alistair.

followed by
Human / Mage / Primal / Spirit Healer
If the chance of dual-wielding warriors returns in Inquisition then my first play-through will be with a Human / Warrior / Dual-wield / New Specialization ?

Actually the devs said that being a Mage is different enough that each race will have a different (story not playable) background, including Elven mages are Dalish.

Not sure what they are talking about on the whole accent thing bbecause I don't remember them having one aswell, and yes they did confirm that the elven mage will be Dalish though as the previous poster mentioned we can't choose it since it's tied to the race and class combination, also what they said was that they might add an extra layer on top of the mage backgrounds to make them special.
This was in the playable race podcast at nerd appropriate about 38 minutes in.

i strongly relate to this. I cant quite put it into words but play a saarebas or former saarebas would not be appealing to me. It must have been the strong impression of the saarebas that DA2 left us with. It would be hard for me not to feel neutered in some way. Luckily i hardly care for mages as far as my PC is concerned. Qunari warrior ftw.ignoreality wrote...
Female elf mage, unless the female qunari look as badass as I expect them to and can be mages (I have my doubts, and I am NOT playing a Saarebas, even an ex-Saarebas).

Warden - Dwarf Commoner Rogue - Save Circle, Peace Elves and Werewolves, Balen for the way Orzammar ends up.
Hawke - Archer Rogue - Neutral but Mage in the end, agreed and liked Arishok but had to face him 1v1 because I'm loyal to friends....except Anders.
Inquisitor - Depending on the background reason for joining/leading the inquisition either a Qunari Rogue or Elf Mage
I'll probably play at least 2-4 times if I like it so I'll play at least each race.
Qunari Rogue, Elf Mage, Dwarf Warrior and Human Archer Rogue.
