What are those companions' Favored Class? I am playing a makeover version of MotB and thus can let those companions multiclass. But I cannot ascertain what kind of combinations will cause XP penalty.

If I'm reading the files right, Half-Celestials don't have a favoured class, and Hagspawn favor Barbarians.

Thanks.
Hmm. So Kaelyin should better multiclass into some prestige class I guess.

Playable races with no favoured class (humans, half-elves, and apparently half-celestials) don't count their highest base class for the purposes of determining experience penalties. That means you could give Kaelyn any second base class at all.

Yep, no favoured class means they can take any class as favoured. Though I don't think it works correctly in NWN2, it's supposed to be which ever class you designate as favoured to eliminate the XP penalty. But in NWN2 I think it just takes your first class as favoured, I don't think it uses the highest. I could be wrong.

The manual says 'highest' - but the manual is frequently wrong.
The Wikia page also says 'highest' - but there's no guarantee that hasn't just been copied verbatim from the manual.

In case of Human and half-elf, their favored class is "any" and not "none". Are those two different? Or not?

Nope, same diff. It's just the way I read it in the file. There it's a 1/0 flag for favoured class. Humans and half celestials have it as 0.

Thanks again.
That makes sense as Kaelyn looks to be a half-celestial half-human.

It's the highest, yes, regardless of which one you take first.

I thought I added a note about favored class in the MotB Makeover documentation after someone suggested I do so. Have to look.
