Happy,
The consensus from the NV thread was to do the DLCs in this order: Honest Hearts - Dead Money - OWB - Lonesome Road. Seems to be the right order for difficulty and story arc.
And you can get through Dead Money without melee. Don't be intimidated; it's just easier with melee/sneak. The aura and environment are creepy as hell, but the inhabitants can be dealt with, or avoided. Environmental hazards will be a challenge as well, but nothing you won't be able to deal with. I did it with a guns character with low melee the first time. Yeah, you'll struggle a little, but sneak where you can, craft whatever you can avoid hazards. And you will pick up companions, as needed, along the way.
OK, thanks! I actually just started Honest Hearts last night, so I'm glad to know I picked the right one.
I didn't realize there was a 75 lb. weight limit, so I went and dumped a ton of stuff, along with my followers, off at the Lucky 38. When I got back, I talked to darling Ricky, and realized too late that he could have carried stuff for me. Lots of xp chances in that conversation. I did all that I could, and told him to hit the road.
Then we finally get there, and whoa! What's this? White Legs ambush? Crap. I suddenly realize everyone is dead, and I kinda panic. I didn't get a quest failure, so I just kept going, and figured I'd reload if I had to. Then I googled it, and found that it was a scripted event. Phew! Although I suspect that I might have accidentally shot some Dead Horse scouts in the area, from being trigger happy. Oopsie.
I've done several quests, met Joshua and Daniel, and am now traveling with Waking Cloud. I think I prefer Follows-Chalk. And...I'm pretty sure I brought the wrong weapons with me. I left the Gauss rifle at home, and have been wishing this entire time that I had it. Or any kind of sniper rifle. I just brought an assault rifle, a laser rcw, and a shotgun. I picked up a Riot Shotgun, (which seems to have better stats). And lots of 12.7mm submachine guns. I wish I had realized how much you can sell those for, instead of constantly maintaining them when I picked up new ones; I could be rich!
So I was wondering...I would swear that Joshua Graham sounds like a Dunmer from Skyrim. So I looked him up, and sure enough, he's voiced by
Keith Szarabajka. I love it when voice actors cross over. My husband just shakes his head, every time I pick out a voice. I'm pretty sure I also heard Njada Stonearm, Astrid, the list goes on. Not to mention the usual suspects.
