In any event, I hope Bethesda announces Fallout 4 at the VGAs this year. Do the same sort of thing as they did with Skyrim. Announce at VGAs in December and launch the following Fall.

I think BSN ate my post. Anyway, what I said was: Doubtful. The URL is survivor2299. Fallout 3 took place in 2277 and New Vegas in 2281. This is probably like those ghost radio signals left over from the war.Chashan wrote...
Are we looking at a Fallout-game kicking off with the bombs dropped fairly recently, then?
Not that I'd mind, would make for an interesting scenario too.
No discounting that, true. Was more thinking that the prologue, at least, would be set quite close to that.
With the "sound-only teaser" discredited, though, that whole message being legit is somewhat in question, I suppose.

Not sure if its been mentioned here, but it seems like that survivor teaser site is a fake. The "teaser" trailer music in part comes from an orchestral version of Super Mario World's Castle theme.

You broke my heart. But still, did not expect beautiful music like that just for Mario.
EDIT: Okay, there is hope for the teaser, just the sound teaser is fake.

So the countdown link is still legit as far as we know?
For now, hopefully. We shall see this Sunday.

I guess it could be. But I wouldn't get my hopes up.
I'd guess if we're getting any Fallout 4 news soon, it'll be at the VGAs on December 7th.

Hooray! My hubs is playing Point Lookout - at level 12. I seem to remember that being relatively difficult when I played it many moons ago.Barbarossa2010 wrote...
Well...thanks to this thread I've picked up FO3 again. Jumped right in the middle of a previous playthrough somewhere in Georgetown with Charon as my companion...badass that he is.
I finished up Honest Hearts this morning. Tried the evacuation route the first time, then loaded and fought the White Legs. I'm not sure which was the 'best' way, but I kept the second save, and went from there. I'm just happy to have ED-E back, tbh.
And tri-beam laser rifles.
Ugh, do I start Dead Money, or Old World Blues? I'm getting frustrated with trying to get Arcade to trigger Auld Lang Syne. Blah.

I would definitely do Dead Money now. Get ready for some real weirdness.
OWB and Lonesome Road are a combined great finale.

Sounds about right. I didn't put much stock in the supposed leaked trailer theme.

The Survivalist story was a good one. I'm glad I took the time to find all the caches.Barbarossa2010 wrote...
I went with fighting the White Legs as well. A personal choice more than anything. Survivalist Rifle is cool with a great story attached. I actually found it by accident; no easy feat.

Dead Money. OK. I'm kind of stuck right now in the MQ. I'm stringing everyone along, until I figure out who I'm siding with, and ended up in Vault 19 with no C4, and too low of an Explosives skill. Blah. Even with a magazine and Comprehension, it's not enough. Now I just need to figure out which marker triggers it, and get started. Any suggestions for what to bring? Can I stock up on anything first, or do I just go in with the clothes on my back?
Guess I could Google it.

Just grind it out and do what you have to do. There are some good rewards for finishing.

That's one of it's best or worst qualities depending on your tastes. XD It doesn't get much better in that regard until the end. Still, I think it's a great and unique experience in FNV. There's no other zone quite like it.
The first time I finished Dead Money felt like those moments at the end of some horror movies when the survivors get away and dawn finally breaks over the horizon. Despite enjoying it overall, I felt a sense of relief. Returning to the Mojave was freeing. I was actually happy to see burnt out buildings and piles of rubble again. XD
